CARF International will be onsite at Gratiot Integrated Health Network (GIHN) from February 9–11. We have invited the CARF surveyors to evaluate how well our programs and services meet international standards for quality.

This survey helps us understand what we are doing well and identify opportunities for improvement. As a result of this process, GIHN may earn or continue our accreditation.

📢 Update on the MDHHS Request for Proposal (RFP)

MDHHS has officially withdrawn the previously released RFP. While this is an important development, it does not mean the work is done.

This moment reinforces why continued advocacy matters. As conversations move forward, it’s critical that MDHHS meaningfully collaborates with PIHPs and CMHSPs—the organizations that know their communities, providers, and consumers best. Sustainable, effective systems are built through partnership, transparency, and shared expertise.

Now is the time to keep our voices strong and unified. Advocacy helps ensure that future decisions prioritize access, quality care, and outcomes for the individuals and families who rely on Michigan’s public mental health system.

Let’s stay engaged, informed, and committed to collaboration. 💙

In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his enduring legacy of hope, equality, justice, and compassion, GIHN will be closed today, Monday, January 19th in observance of MLK Day.

Our office will reopen during regular business hours on Tuesday, January 20th.

Thursday’s court ruling marked an important victory for Michigan’s public mental health system—a system that has been locally managed and responsive to community needs for more than 60 years.

We are local people caring for local people, and we remain committed to protecting those we serve and the communities we proudly call home.
