📣 CARF International Onsite Survey at GIHN 📣

CARF International will be onsite at Gratiot Integrated Health Network (GIHN) from February 9–11. We have invited the CARF surveyors to evaluate how well our programs and services meet international standards for quality.

This survey helps us understand what we are doing well and identify opportunities for improvement. As a result of this process, GIHN may earn or continue our accreditation.

📝 What does this mean for you?
The survey will not affect your treatment or services, but you may see CARF surveyors in the building while waiting for your appointment.

We appreciate your support as we continue working to provide high-quality services to our community! 💙

📢 Update on the MDHHS Request for Proposal (RFP)

MDHHS has officially withdrawn the previously released RFP. While this is an important development, it does not mean the work is done.

This moment reinforces why continued advocacy matters. As conversations move forward, it’s critical that MDHHS meaningfully collaborates with PIHPs and CMHSPs—the organizations that know their communities, providers, and consumers best. Sustainable, effective systems are built through partnership, transparency, and shared expertise.

Now is the time to keep our voices strong and unified. Advocacy helps ensure that future decisions prioritize access, quality care, and outcomes for the individuals and families who rely on Michigan’s public mental health system.

Let’s stay engaged, informed, and committed to collaboration. 💙

The decision follows a judge’s order to block the state’s request for proposal. The state says its aim in seeking bidders was to introduce ‘consumer choice’ to the Medicaid-backed system.

💙 A Win for Michigan’s Public Mental Health System 💙

Thursday’s court ruling marked an important victory for Michigan’s public mental health system—a system that has been locally managed and responsive to community needs for more than 60 years.

We are local people caring for local people, and we remain committed to protecting those we serve and the communities we proudly call home.

While this fight is far from over, we are grateful to everyone who spoke up and shared their concerns with the Governor and your local lawmakers. 🗣️ Your voices matter—please keep the advocacy going. Together, we make a difference.

A Michigan court has ruled that the state’s plan to overhaul its mental health service delivery system violates state law, citing conflicts with the Michigan Mental Health Code. The decision, issued Thursday by Judge Christopher P. Yates of the Michigan Court of Claims, declared that the state’s...
