CORNISH FAMILY NAMI CENTER
NAMI Washington County Oregon is a non-profit organization that follows the NAMI mission: “To improve the lives of those affected by mental illness through education, support and advocacy!”
A lot of us prefer different terms other than “illness”; but we are here for you no matter how you choose to identify. We also want all Peers, family members and friends to share. Be supportive, ask for support and/or questions, share experiences and photos. Let’s also try to have some fun and laughs! Our organization offers free support groups, classes and activities. As well as volunteer opportunities, such as helping with the annual NAMI Walk. We would love to give you a tour of our home. This house was given to NAMI Washington County by Ted and Linda Cornish in 2011. Ted and Linda Cornish have experienced mental health concerns in their own family. What a selfless act; they have invested time, energy and support to NAMI Washington County. Ted has passed away, this year, but Linda Cornish still supports NAMI Washington County. We are fortunate to have such a unique place to consistently provide a safe place for many NAMI Connections support groups, educational opportunities and activities. It is for people who we like to call peers. Our NAMI Affiliate is a place to find help for mental health concerns. We are uniquely different than most NAMI Affiliates. You can volunteer to help tend our very own garden. We would like to welcome you to our house, a safe, non-judgmental atmosphere to talk to others about mental health. Have coffee, tea or a conversation about what we offer at NAMI Washington County. We want you to know you are not alone. Mission Statement: “To improve the lives of those affected by mental illness through education, support and advocacy.” A lot of us prefer different terms other than “illness”; but we are here for you no matter how you choose to identify. There is no cost for the services we provide. Please feel free to drop by anytime during regular office hours, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Come on over to our Cornish Family NAMI Center and see what we have to offer.

Community meal Wednesdays at NAMI Washington County!
Although we wish we did, we do not have the funding to feed every single person and family who receives SNAP benefits. But we are going to do what we can to play a small part in feeding our community.
So join us on Wednesdays for a community meal!
Today staff member Lisa used fresh lettuce grown right here in our garden, plus some other low-cost ingredients cooked up in our Instant Pot. We want to be an example of how you can do more with less.
Lunch will be served around 2pm on Wednesdays - until it runs out.
Mental health and physical health are very connected - so come eat with us and feed your body and mind.

Our Oregon NAMI affiliates offer free classes and support groups across the state, no matter what your connection to mental health is. Not seeing something in your area? Look for online or hybrid groups that are accessible to you.
Some of our affiliates and state chapter also provide in-person help and resource helplines to guide you toward the support you need.

How do you know if a friend or loved one is struggling with their mental health?
NAMI partnered with the Ad Council and the American Foundation for Su***de Prevention to create a guide for how to talk about mental health, especially made for young people.
