This is my kidney transplant journey to keep family, friends and co-workers update on my recovery.

I recently had my annual check-up at the Cleveland Clinic on June 30, and the results were encouraging. The doctor reduced my blood pressure medication as my levels were too low, which is a good sign. My creatinine level was, similar to having two healthy kidneys. The doctor also decreased my tacro dose as it was slightly high, and given my progress since the transplant, this adjustment was necessary. Furthermore, an echo test showed a significant improvement in my heart's ejection rate. My Cholesterol levels and weight were also very good, and I've been advised to continue my current routine with some muscle building. My next appointment will be virtual in January, and I'll continue with monthly lab tests. I apologize for the delayed update due to the Fourth of July celebrations. Thank you for your ongoing love and support, and I'm grateful to Dan Godwin for this incredible opportunity at a second chance.

Hey all I went to Cleveland Clinic back on June 27 for a check up and my second biopsy and i just got my biopsy results back. There is no rejection. The journey keeps moving forward.

Just wanted to update everyone on my 1 year appt last week. Everything went great and they are happy with my numbers. So down to labs once a month and my next appt is not till June. In June we will do the one year protocol biopsy. Since the first biopsy was really like 8 months they wanted to wait til June to do the year biopsy. Normally it is 6months and a year after transplants.

Thanks for all the love and support. I also got to have lunch with Dan last week. It was a great visit. So thankful.

Today is day 365 of the gift of life that Dan Godwin gave me . I am truly greatful and blessed for this second chance at life. Thank you doesn’t say enough. However Dan thank you for your selfless act and being my hero. Thank you to your family who supported you in this gift. This past year has gone by so quickly and I can’t believe today is our 1 year anniversary of life. Thank You!

I want to thank my wife, my daughter, my dad, my brothers, my sister, all my friends, all my colleagues and anyone who said a prayer for me. I am truly grateful to you all for the love and support. Thank you!

I will be heading to Cleveland Clinic Thursday for my one year check up. My numbers and labs have been great. I feel great. Looking forward to seeing the doctors and team that made this happen. Cleveland clinic has been simply amazing. I will keep you posted how the check up goes.

There is no way I will ever be able to repay Dan for this gift and each of you for the love and support other then living life. Here are some photos from the past year of me living life.

UPdATE: I wanted to share that I got my biopsy results today and there is NO sign of rejection of the new kidney. This is great news. Thanks for all the love and support.

It has been a while since I did an update so today I had to go Clevleand for a biopsy and a doctor appt. Both were quick appointments. Should have biopsy results maybe the end of this week or the end of next week. The did adjust some meds and took me off a med too. Next appt. Is In December virtual and then February in person. Also labs are twice a month now instead of once a week. My blood work Numbers look good. The one blood test they do for rejection was good too.

Hopefully good results from the biopsy.

Hey y’all! Just want to share we had dinner tonight with my hero and donor Dan Godwin. We had a great time. So thankful for this guy!

What a great way to celebrate 6months of this journey. Exactly six months to the day!

We both are doing great!

Hey all-

After going to Clevleand last week had to do small procedures to help the kidney keep functioning well. All procedures went great. I got out on Friday early evening.

Will have to go back at some point to finish the procedure but all went well. Numbers look great when I left.

Long post alert.

Hey all sorry I missed June check up. Summer has kept us busy so far. Everything went well in June no issues.

July update started off good but then they went to do the biopsy and found fluid around the kidney. However kidney is doing good and numbers look good but need to get rid of the fluid. Which they believe is from stricture they found during surgery and they need to drain the area. I am heading back down Monday. They will admit me to the hospital fastest way to have the procedure done. Normally done outpatient but they did not want to wait for an appt. Doctor is hoping that this will solve the fluid issue.

Plan is to drain Tuesday morning and hopefully heading home Wednesday. If all goes well.

Doctor was not overly concerned with it as he let me bring Maizy and shannon home.

Other then that I feel great and have been getting a lot done around the house.

Just want to keep all my friends, and family update. Thanks for all the prayers.

Truly blessed for Dan Godwin and this second opportunity at life.

I will keep you posted how things go.
