Growing up in Alpena, we all have those memories of the "old school" doctors who took care of us. Our own Mike was reminiscing today about the legendary Doc Spens. His Grandma Marie worked for him for years!
Mike remembers Doc’s gravelly voice, the (now unthinkable!) smell of to***co in the office, and the way he’d tease the family by telling them to go to Cunningham’s instead of their own family pharmacy! It was all in good fun, and it’s a connection to our history that we cherish.
We’ve had the honor of working with hundreds of incredible local doctors over the decades here at Alpena’s oldest family-owned pharmacy. We want to hear from you: Who was your favorite doctor in Alpena? Whether they are still practicing or long retired, tell us a story about what made them special!
