Age related macular degeneration (AMD) is a disease that affects central vision. Risk factors for AMD include being over 50 years in age, smoking, high blood pressure, and having a diet high in saturated fat.
Symptoms include
*Blurry vision
*Straight lines appearing wavy
*A dark, empty area in the center of vision
Although there is no cure for AMD, if you feel you are experiencing symptoms please make an appointment, as there are treatments that can slow the progression of AMD!
