🎄 Christmas Assistance Sign-Up 2025 🎁

The Salvation Army Alpena Corps is here to help local families make the holidays brighter! 🌟

📅 Sign-Up Dates:
🗓️ Wednesday, November 5 – 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM
🗓️ Friday, November 7 – 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM

📍 Location:
The Salvation Army Community Center
722 N. Second Ave., Alpena

If you or someone you know needs assistance this Christmas, you can receive:
🍽️ A food basket with a full holiday meal
🎁 Gifts for children ages newborn–17

✅ Please bring:

Photo ID with Alpena County address

ID for everyone in your household (birth certificate, school ID, Medicaid card, etc.)

Proof of income (DHHS/SS benefits, paycheck stub, etc.)

🦃 It’s time to start thinking THANKSGIVING!

Yes, we will have Thanksgiving food bags distribution (those dates and times to be announced soon), but we are also continuing Thanksgiving Day Dinner!

This year it will be held at The Salvation Army on Wright Street.

Project ASSERT (Alcohol & Substance Use Services, Education, and Referral to Treatment) is available at MyMichigan Medical Centers in Alpena, Tawas, and West Branch.

This emergency department-based program connects individuals to Peer Recovery Coaches (PRCs) or Wellness Advocates (WAs) who offer:

💬 Non-judgmental, person-centered support
💡 Brief interventions to start the healing process
🧭 Guidance toward treatment, recovery, and wellness resources

Whether you're ready for change or just need someone to talk to, Project ASSERT is here to help — no pressure, just support.

Tomorrow is the day!! Join us rain or shine (we are hoping for the latter!) to walk our 2nd annual bridging the gap recovery walk!!

Check in starting at 9:30am to receive a free t-shirt (while supplies last) and a ticket into our raffle drawing for a $200 visa gift card!

Look for a painted rock along the path and win a prize at the end of our walk! (more details on how to participate before the walk)

Check in before the walk from 9:30am-9:50am to receive a free T-Shirt (while supplies last) and a raffle ticket to win a $200 visa gift card! (must be present to win at the end of our walk) Walk will begin promptly at 10:00am!

🪨Find some painted rocks during your walk and you could go home with various prizes! Gift cards, gift certificates, toys for the littles, decor, and more!!
