Recovery doesn’t have to be walked alone.

At Reborn Rescue, we believe healing happens best in connection, with people who understand and animals who love unconditionally.

Our no- cost, Animal-Assisted Therapy Recovery Programs bring together individuals in recovery and rescue dogs to create something powerful:
✨ purpose
✨ routine
✨ accountability
✨ community

When you join our recovery programs, you’re not just volunteering or spending time with dogs, you’re becoming part of a recovery family.

🐶 You’ll work hands-on with rescue dogs
🤍 Build healthy routines and responsibility
🌱 Strengthen confidence and self-worth
🤝 Connect with others who truly understand the recovery journey

There is no judgment here.
No labels.
Just people showing up for themselves, each other, and the dogs who need them.

Whether you’re newly sober, long-term in recovery, or simply supportive of recovery, you belong here.

💬 Recovery is possible.
🐾 Healing is real.
💚 And you don’t have to do it alone.

Sunrise Treatment and Recovery Centre has been so impressed with and grateful for the compassionate services and opportunities provided by Reborn Rescue. Our residents have had opportunities to volunteer and engage in activities with Reborn Rescue, have benefited from their support caring for a dog during treatment, have enjoyed presentations and inspiration hearing from people that have found success and passion in recovery. Reborn Rescue needs community support as Carlos prepares for his surgery. This family gives back constantly to our community. Time for the community to support them in their time of need.

❤️A Heartfelt Ask From Our Rescue❤️
❤️You may have met this wonderful guy at the rescue, talked to him over the phone or saw him at one of our events. This rescue would not exist without him. He put in hours of work building my dream from scratch. He still continues to help whenever he can at the rescue, I am so grateful.
❤️STORY TIME❤️
My husband Carlos is preparing for a kidney transplant scheduled for January 14th at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. This journey has temporarily changed everything for our family and for the rescue. While I normally cover a large portion of our operating expenses through low-cost grooming, I’m unable to keep up at the pace I normally do. Grooming is how I support the rescue. I groom almost every day, often working up to 10-hour days without taking a paycheck, just to keep our doors open. Because of this pause, we are facing a gap.
❤️We need $4,000 to carry us through the end of February to help cover:
• Rent and utilities
• Staff support
• Insurance
• Veterinary care for our rescues including spays and neuters
❤️RECOVERY IS POSSIBLE!❤️
What makes this story even more powerful is why this mission matters so deeply to us. Recovery works. People do recover. I am in recovery. My husband Carlos is in recovery. And in a moment that still feels surreal, two individuals in recovery were matched for a life-saving kidney transplant. Our dear friend Bryce Fox, who is also in recovery, was matched as Carlos’s living donor. This is living proof that when people are given support, compassion, and hope, miracles happen.
❤️Reborn Rescue was created to be a place where people and animals heal together. It’s more than a rescue, it’s a lifeline for dogs who have nowhere else to go and for individuals in recovery who need compassion, purpose, and support during some of the hardest chapters of their lives.
❤️Right now, we need help to keep that mission alive. This rescue exists because we believe no one is beyond saving for both people and animals. We cannot do this alone.
❤️If you are able to donate, no matter the amount, you are helping our rescues, supporting people in recovery, and ensuring this mission continues during one of the most challenging seasons we’ve faced.
⭐If you can’t donate, sharing this post means more than you know.⭐
We will not survive without our community, and we are endlessly grateful for every ounce of support, love, and encouragement you give us.
❤️From the bottom of our hearts, Shannon and Carlos Vivero❤️
❤️Thank you for believing in Reborn Rescue

What connections and supports do you have in place for the next few holiday weeks?

Let's be real: it is cold outside, it is dark, maybe there are family struggles or financial stressors, there can be so many discouragers that contribute to these weeks being high risk weeks. But remember that even on the heaviest days, choosing recovery is choosing yourself, your future, and the quiet promise that healing is still unfolding.

The holidays are not meant to be carried alone, especially in recovery. Reaching out to supports is a powerful act of strength. Connection reminds us that we are seen, held, and supported, and that together we can move through this season with hope, resilience, and care.

There are some wonderful opportunities to connect this holiday season. Next week is a sober New Years eve party! There is a Hope not dope meeting and food prior. There are coaches available and other meetings between now and then.

Give us a call if you need info, support, or even a cup of coffee and words of encouragement.
