At Bianco Primary Care, we teach our patients that new habits require new systems. Today, we’re talking about how that applies to nutrition and achieving long-term health goals.
Nutrition is one of the most powerful tools we have to support overall health and help prevent disease. That’s why our providers focus on helping patients build sustainable habits.
Here are 3 realistic ways to establish better nutrition and achieve your goals:
1. Set your primary goal as being healthy and feeling better, not just weight loss. Weight loss can be a secondary benefit, but it shouldn’t be your "reason". Healthy eating is a journey, not a destination; there shouldn’t be an end date to good nutrition.
2. Do not use fad diets or make drastic changes to what you do now. These approaches aren’t sustainable, can disrupt daily life and family routines, and often fail over time.
3. Set a specific calorie and protein goal and track these for as long as it takes to get comfortable with what meeting those targets looks like for you. Experiment until it feels realistic and enjoyable to maintain.
If you’re not sure how to put this into practice, our team is here to help. We can walk you through identifying nutrition and macro targets that align with your health goals. Reach out to schedule a visit and start the conversation.
