Carole was born in Mitchell, Iowa, the oldest of three children, and grew up on a horse farm alongside her two younger brothers. Her childhood was filled with simple joys: playing basketball and riding her beloved horse, Prince.
While in high school, Carole met the love of her life, Darwin. The two began dating and were married in 1959. They eventually made their home in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where they raised their two sons, Dana and Sean.
As a young mother, Carole worked as a receptionist in a doctor’s office and in retail, balancing work and family life with grace. Determined to continue her education, she later pursued an English degree at Coe College in Cedar Rapids.
As her children grew and her interests expanded, Carole found her true calling in real estate — a career that would become incredibly successful. She had a special gift for helping young couples find their dream homes and built lasting relationships with many repeat clients who trusted her to guide them through buying and selling their homes.
When Darwin retired, he joined Carole in the business, and together they became a dynamic team. Later, her son Dana earned his real estate license, and together they were proudly known as “The Benson Team.”
Carole is the proud grandmother of three grandchildren: Nicholas, Derek, and Gabi, as well as two step-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren. Her life has been defined by love of family, dedication to her work, and a passion for helping others feel at home.
