Today is World Autism Awareness Day. We believe in a world where every mind is respected, understood, and celebrated.

Neurodiversity reminds us that there is no single "right" way to think, learn, or experience the world. For autistic individuals, life can come with real challenges, and also with remarkable strengths.

Mental health care for the neurodivergent community should be affirming, individualized, and deeply human. We are committed to that kind of care.

To our autistic clients, friends, and community members: you belong here. Your story matters.

Today is World Bipolar Day, a time to raise awareness and replace stigma with understanding.

Bipolar disorder is a complex mental health condition that affects mood, energy, and daily functioning. It looks different for everyone. Some experience intense highs (mania or hypomania), deep lows, or a mix of both.

What's important to know: bipolar disorder is treatable. With the right support, including therapy, medication, and community, people with bipolar disorder lead full, meaningful lives.

If you or someone you love is navigating bipolar disorder, you are not alone. Understanding is the first step toward connection. Our team specializes in compassionate, personalized care. We'd be honored to support you. Link in bio.

A little reminder for the weekend: rest is not a reward. It's a need.

If anxiety has been making it hard to slow down, you're not alone. Anxiety often creates a cycle where the more we push through, the louder it gets.

Three gentle ways to support yourself when anxiety is high:

1. Box breathing: Inhale 4 counts, hold 4, exhale 4, hold 4. Repeat.

2. Name 5 things you can see around you right now. Grounding works.

3. Remind yourself: "This feeling is temporary. I have gotten through hard things before."

You are doing better than you think.

If anxiety is showing up in a big way, therapy can help you get to the root of it. We'd love to support you.

Mindset Monday reminder: progress is not always visible, and that's okay.

We live in a world that celebrates big wins and dramatic transformations, but so much of real healing happens quietly. In the moment you choose to pause before reacting. In the night you actually sleep instead of spiraling. In the conversation where you asked for what you needed.

Those moments are growth. Even when they don't feel like it.

This week, try shifting one thought from "I'm not where I want to be" to "I am building something that takes time."

That small reframe is not toxic positivity. It's a practice in self-compassion, and it actually works.

If your mindset has felt stuck lately, that's something a therapist can genuinely help with. We're here when you're ready.

Just like the season around us, healing and change happen gradually, and that's perfectly okay.

This weekend, try one small act of self-care that fills your cup:

A walk outside.
A quiet cup of tea.
A few minutes of journaling before bed.

Small things add up to big shifts.

Living with chronic pain is exhausting in ways that go far beyond the physical. Anxiety, depression, and stress often come along for the ride, making everything harder.

Therapy offers tools to help break that cycle. At Alan Behrman & Associates, we take a whole-person approach to pain management because healing the mind matters just as much as healing the body.

If you learned early to minimize your needs or keep the peace, boundaries can feel uncomfortable or selfish. Therapy helps people understand where this belief came from and practice setting limits without guilt or fear of rejection.

This Women's History Month, we're honoring one of the most powerful acts of strength: taking care of your mental health.

Women have always shown up for others and this month, we're reminded to show up for ourselves too.

✨ Prioritize your self-care. It's not selfish, it's essential.
✨ Lean on your people. Trusted connections lighten every load.
✨ Use your voice. Speaking openly about mental health breaks the silence and the stigma.
✨ Honor your whole story. Because race, class, gender, and identity all shape our experiences and our healing.

You deserve the same care and compassion you so freely give to others. 🌸

Today is World Teen Mental Health Day! At Alan Behrman & Associates, we stand in solidarity with teenagers everywhere.

Adolescence comes with big changes and real challenges. Here's how we can all support the teens in our lives:

✅ Keep conversations open and judgment-free
✅ Share mental health resources and coping tools
✅ Create safe spaces where teens feel heard
✅ Remind them that asking for help is a sign of strength
✅ Model healthy self-care habits
✅ Advocate for better mental health access for youth

Let's commit to showing up for our young people, today and every day.

When stress builds over time, the nervous system becomes more reactive. What feels like an overreaction is often a sign of overload rather than weakness. Therapy helps identify what is already taxing your system so smaller stressors no longer feel unbearable.
