Today, our Creative Living partners at “The Pasadena Museum of History” visited MonteCedro. Daniel Nevarez, gave a wonderful lecture on the history of the museum and Fényes Mansion. This lecture proceeds a tour of the mansion and museum in December. Our sign-up for the tour filled to capacity and on to a waitlist as soon as the lecture was over!

Today we held a “Thanksgiving Mixer with the Directors” instead of our usual Town Hall meeting. It was a wonderful opportunity for the management team and residents to enjoy a conversation and simply be together. We are so grateful for this amazing community and for all we have navigated, together, in 2025!

Today, residents, teammates, and families, came together for MonteCedro’s “Thankful for Friends” walk to end Alzheimer’s. Each participant donated one dollar, or more if they chose, to be a part of the festivities. All the money raised will be donated to the Alzheimer’s Association. After the walk residents were gifted a purple ribbon pin, for Alzheimer’s awareness, and treated to a wonderful lecture on fall prevention, while enjoying donuts and coffee. It was a day colored in purple and smiles!

The spectacular music of our Creative Living partners, Camerata Pacifica! The residents were treated to a concert, previewing the music from Camerata’s concert tonight at the Huntington. Simply breathtaking! A full bus of lucky residents, who are season ticket holders, will be enjoying the full concert tonight.

The spectacular combination of Vijay (pianist) and Matt (baritone) performing famous operas and beloved Broadway songs took everyone’s breath away! The calls for an “encore” so robust that they repeated a song for the residents. Some performers reach deep inside the audiences hearts with their music, Matt and Vijay did just that! Simply stunning!

Last night, the “Hunt Villa” residents, held their neighborhood dinner in Marcell’s. Delicious food, wonderful service, and excellent conversation made the evening one to remember. Neighbors turned into friends made it special!

Yesterday, we took a group of residents to the Norton Simon museum, in Pasadena. They walked with Dr. Toby Hooper, who recently gave a series of talks on “Mythology at the Norton Simon,” at MonteCedro. Dr. Hooper pointed out many of the pieces discussed in the series and answered questions. The residents also spent time enjoying the vast collection of art in the museum, before heading back to campus for dinner.

We celebrated the MonteCedro Veterans last night, with a special musical event with Grace Faye, with our annual slide show of veterans playing behind her. It was an honor to highlight the amazing residents who have served and thank them for their service. We ended the evening with a special happy hour, complete with a signature beverage and delicious appetizers.
