🛑 Dissociation is a Stop Sign🛑

Ever noticed a client’s eyes glaze over or their voice go flat? That’s not just a lull—it’s dissociation.

When a client "checks out," it’s a signal to pause and help them safely reconnect with the present moment.

Here’s how to handle it:
Key Takeaways:

👁Recognize the Signs: Look for a blank stare, monotone voice, or a lack of presence in the conversation.😶

🌱Reconnect: Use micro-movements like wiggling fingers or toes to bring them back into their body and the environment.👣

🆘️Manage the Overwhelm: Dissociation is the body saying it’s too much. Slow down, stop the processing, and make things manageable again.

Helping a client navigate these moments is a powerful way to build trust and safety in your sessions. 🤝

A calm body can integrate a difficult truth.🧬

As practitioners, we often forget that the story a client tells is only half the picture—the rest is written in their physiology.

True breakthroughs don't happen by simply talking through a narrative; they happen when we address the "trapped history" living within the nervous system.

Before a single word is spoken, your client's breath, muscle tone, and level of vigilance are already revealing their capacity for healing.

We cannot force insight into a system that is stuck in a defensive posture of tensing, protecting, or shutting down.

Our priority must shift from the "what" of the trauma to the "how" of the body’s current state.

Insight follows regulation.

When we help a client move toward somatic safety, the mind finally has the space to follow.

Is your client stuck, or are they just "Dorsal"? 🧠⚓

Many practitioners feel like they’re hitting a wall when a client becomes "fine," compliant, or suddenly sleepy mid-session.

The truth? You aren't hitting a wall; you're hitting a biological shutdown.

As a refined practitioner, you must know how to read the body’s "map" before you can guide the healing. You cannot talk a nervous system into safety—you have to lead it there. 🪜

Swipe through for a quick-glance guide on:

✅ Identifying the 3 states of regulation in real-time.

✅ Why you can't "skip steps" during the healing process.

✅ The subtle cues that talk therapy often misses.

Real healing requires a practitioner who doesn't just listen to words, but speaks the language of the nervous system.

The story your client tells you is only half the picture; their body holds the rest.🧬

As a practitioner, the most vital assessment doesn’t happen through the narrative, but through the physiological state of the nervous system.

Before a single word is spoken, the body expresses its "trapped history" through defensive postures, tension, and breathing patterns.

By observing whether a client is constricted in their breath, showing hyper-vigilance, or slipping into a state of freeze or fawn, you can identify the specific strategy needed for that session.

True clinical breakthroughs happen when we stop trying to "talk" our way out of trauma and instead address the physical reality of the body, because the mind will always follow the body's lead.🌀

Every ending is an invitation to a new beginning. Every closing door creates the space for a new opening. 🕯️✨

Now that we have officially stepped into 2026, we are taking a final look back at the incredible energy that defined our 2025 Year in Review.

For us at Embodied Resilience Mastery Program (ERMP), last year wasn't just about the numbers; it was a story of resilience, healing, and the profound human connection that happens when we show up for ourselves and each other.

A look at the momentum we're carrying forward:

⭐️188 Classes Conducted—A year of relentless dedication to the work.

⭐️1,530 Total Attendances—Reflecting a community of dedicated souls returning time and again to sharpen their resilience.

⭐️50 Sessions at Huntington Health/Cedar Sinai Cancer Center.

⭐️40-Person Retreat in the heart of Sinai.

⭐️6 Days of intensive in-person training for those on the front lines of mental health.

The voices of our community remind us why this matters: these classes have been a "lifeline" and a "gift of hope". From moving past fear to finding "life-saving" gratitude, the transformation has been real.

The chapter of 2025 has officially closed. And the door to 2026 is now wide open.

We are carrying the breakthroughs, the lessons, and the collective strength of last year into everything we do next 🌊.

2026 is here. Are you ready to join us for the next chapter of your journey?

Let’s begin. 🚀

"The pain in your body is trapped history." 🕰️✨

If you’re a therapist, healer or coach, you know that some breakthroughs can’t be talked into existence. When the body stays in a state of "danger," it keeps signaling pain as a form of protection.

Our role is to facilitate a new conversation between the mind and the body. By bringing comfort and resources into the equation, we allow the system to finally release those long-held defensive postures.

When we help a client feel safe enough to stop running from their pain, that’s where the real liberation happens.

Moving toward the end of life—whether for ourselves or those we care for—is one of the most profound human experiences, yet it’s often the one we are least prepared for.

The Death and Dying online class, part of the Embodied Resilience Mastery Program offerings, is designed to help you navigate this transition with presence, compassion, and somatic awareness.

Instead of turning away from the finish line, we learn how to hold space for the grief, the logistics, and the deep spiritual mystery of passing.

In this class, we explore:
✨ How to remain grounded and "embodied" in the face of loss.
✨ Practical and emotional tools for end-of-life care.
✨ Transforming fear into a deeper appreciation for life.
✨ Cultivating resilience for caregivers and those in grief.

Matan Steiman is a highly experienced and respected figure in the field of end-of-life care and spiritual development. As a Death Doula, a Chiropractor, a Professor of Philisophy and an Instructor of Martial Arts, Matan brings a unique and multidisciplinary approach informed by over 20 years of experience in philosophical and therapeutic accompaniment.

Whether you are a professional caregiver, currently supporting a loved one, or simply looking to make peace with your own mortality, this space is for you.

"The Trauma Is Not Just 'Out There'—It's In Your Nervous System." ⚠️

Did you know repeated, indirect exposure to traumatic media (conflict footage, social posts) can significantly impact your mental health?

Studies show this "vicarious trauma" leads to real physiological symptoms because your nervous system registers the content as a present-moment threat.

It's not enough to just "turn off the news."

We need discharge—a physical way to metabolize the sympathetic arousal that media consumption creates.

Your Actionable Tool: Titration.

Consume media in small, paced doses, and follow it immediately with a simple grounding or orienting practice (like taking three deep breaths or feeling your feet on the ground). Help your body complete the stress loop.

🍃Protect your nervous system. It's your most valuable tool.

🛑Stop trying to talk about your out of their panic attack. It won't work.

Learn the core intervention: restore safety before anything else.

It's not about talking them down.. but anchoring them in with PAUSE, PRESENCE and PACE.
