✨ Service Spotlight: Strength That Supports Your Lifestyle

You’re already doing the right things—like Pilates—to stay strong, mobile, and active.

But if you’re still dealing with nagging aches or limitations, there may be a missing piece.

At Altamont PT, we don’t replace what’s working—we build on it.
We identify what your body needs in addition to your routine so you can move better, feel stronger, and get more out of every class.

Because the goal isn’t just to stay active… it’s to keep doing what you love without limitations. 💚

Excited for the Village Wide Garage sale this Saturday!

Volunteers Needed! Altamont Free Library's annual book sale is just a week away!

On Saturday, May 2nd and we need you, (yes, you!) to help us make sure that this year's sale is our most successful one ever!

Between Thursday, April 30th and Friday, May 1st, we will be the grateful recipients of thousands and thousands of gently used books. (No encyclopedias or text books and nothing that's falling apart. Please and thank you!) All those books have to be sorted, organized, and carried outside for the sale. On the day of the sale, we need all the friends we can get to help sell those books, keep our tables tidy, and break down at the end of the day.

If you can be of assistance, you will have our undying gratitude (and an early peak at donations!), so get in touch with us at (518) 861-7239, by email at director@altamontfreelibrary.org, or comment down below.

Also! If you have a table or a tarp that we could borrow, that would be a big help too. We'll make sure they get back to you in good condition. Some of us literally have Master's degrees in doing that.

This would be a great way for younger friends with strong backs and kid energy to rack up some community service hours, so if you have some of them, let them know. Thank you!

**Patient Win of the Week 💪**

Laura stays active with Pilates and takes pride in keeping her body moving well. But recently, shoulder and hip pain started getting in the way. The workouts she loved became frustrating. Simple movements didn’t feel so simple anymore.

Instead of pushing through it (like many people do), Laura decided to do something about it.

We got to work—focusing on the *right* kind of movement for her body. Targeted exercises, small adjustments, and a plan built around keeping her active—not sidelined.

Week by week, things started to change:
✔️ Less pain
✔️ More confidence in her movement
✔️ Back to doing what she enjoys

Here’s what Laura had to say:
*"Erik and Stephanie are both knowledgeable and attentive physical therapists. Their exercises have helped to keep me in the game."*

This is exactly why we do what we do.

If you’re someone who wants to stay active, independent, and doing the things you love—but pain is starting to creep in—you don’t have to accept that as “just part of getting older.”

There’s a better way.

Take care of your environment.
Take care of your body.

Same idea.

This Earth Day, keep it simple:
Go for a walk.
Breathe some fresh air.
Spend time outside.

You don’t need a perfect plan to feel better—you just need to start.

Small actions add up.
For your health and the world around you 🌎

You take care of them all day.

Let us take care of you.

That nagging back pain?
It’s not something you just have to live with.

With the right approach, your body can get stronger, more supported, and more resilient.

You deserve to feel good in your body again—not just “get through the day.”

You don’t stop being strong just because your body starts talking back.

The aches. The stiffness. The “I used to be able to do this without thinking” moments…

They’re not a sign to slow down forever.

They’re a sign your body needs a different kind of support.

This week, don’t focus on doing less.

Focus on doing what helps you feel **strong, stable, and in control again**.

You’re not done—you’re just getting smarter about how you take care of yourself. 💪

Big cheers to Steve and Amy, the new owners of Remedies Wine & Spirits 🍷

Nothing pairs better than feeling good in your body and enjoying a great bottle at the end of the day—and that’s exactly why our two businesses go hand in hand.

Here’s to helping our community move better, feel better… and celebrate better.

We love being part of a community that shows up 💚

The Altamont Community Tradition’s Green & Clean Day on April 18th is a chance to get outside, get moving, and take pride in where we live.

It doesn’t have to be complicated:
✔️ A walk through your neighborhood
✔️ A trash bag and a few gloves
✔️ 30 minutes of your time

Movement with a purpose.

Stronger community. Healthier bodies. Cleaner streets.

We’ll see you out there.

**Patient Win of the Week 💪**

For Wendy, it wasn’t a big injury that was bothering her—it was something small that kept showing up every single day.

Reaching into the microwave to grab her coffee.

That simple movement had become painful enough that she had to think twice about it… every morning.

Not because she stopped being active.
Not because she wasn’t trying.

But because her shoulder just wasn’t moving the way it should.

So we got to work.

Over the next 6 weeks, Wendy focused on targeted stretching and strengthening—nothing random, just the right plan for what her body needed.

And little by little, things started to change.

Less pain.
More confidence.
More ease in everyday movement.

Now?

She’s back to grabbing her morning coffee **pain-free** ☕

No hesitation. No second guessing.

Just a small win that makes a big difference in how you start your day.

Here’s what Wendy had to say about her experience:
“Both the staff and the location are great. PTs are knowledgeable and attentive.”

Cheers to you, Wendy—and to getting back to the moments that matter 🙌

If your back hurts more than your tax bill…

…it’s time to address it.

You can only ignore it for so long.
And just like taxes—it doesn’t go away on its own.

The difference?

Your back *can* improve.

With the right plan.
The right guidance.
And a little consistency.

Don’t keep paying for it every day.
