Neurological Rehabilitation and Fitness Center. ALL treatments are ONE-on-ONE with the same certified therapist for every treatment.

We provide one-on-one rehab and fitness training to individuals dealing with ANY type of brain issue (ie Parkinson's, Huntington's, Multiple Sclerosis, Stroke, Ataxia, Traumatic Brain Injury, etc). We are an outpatient center specializing in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and group exercise classes for adults who are battling a disease or injury to the brain. OUR MISSION: to serve those battling a Neurological condition; to provide these individuals and their families a facility with expert therapists who will take the time to compassionately help them FIGHT BACK; to build a community of individuals and families who can support one another during a challenging time; to be a place of HOPE! We are certified in the following:

We accept most major insurances and offer a self-pay option for uninsured individuals.

One of our toughest patients is fighting back against ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. ALS is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, leading to muscle wasting and paralysis. There is currently no cure for this disease. This particular patient’s daughter is organizing a fundraiser called BREWS to BEAT ALS in honor of her father and all others in our community who are battling this disease. The proceeds from this event will be given to the ALS Association. Help us spread the word about this event! Let’s pack the house to support the brave and strong individuals and families who are fighting this disease! See the attached flyer for details. Hope to see you there!!!

Today was our Basic Training exercise class which meets every Wednesday at 11am. Some of our motley crew arrived early to socialize and share stories before their class of fun and torture😉 began. This class is led by one of the best neuro-coaches in Central PA (Melissa G.)👊🏼

Tucker is at it again! Today, he assisted during our exercise class. Each individual took turns walking BIG while carrying Tucker through the gym. This gave them practice with dual tasking (doing two things at once), which is something that can be difficult for patients with Parkinson’s.

To be a successful therapy pup, you must master conventional techniques and exercises. Today’s lesson was a plank position. Tucker is a fast learner and hit it out of the park.

Please say hello to the newest member of the GFN family! Meet Tucker! Tucker is a 3 month old Bernadoodle pup who joined the clinic last week. While he is still learning the ropes and what it means to be a successful therapy dog, we are confident he will be a joy and asset to our community.
Tucker has already impressed everyone with his calm demeanor, and is quickly surpassing our human therapists and staff as a patient-favorite🐶

We're hosting an open house!!

What a great day at the center for all involved!! Patients and students (St. Francis PT students) working together for a common goal to learn more so that more people can be helped in the future. Knowledge is Power!!! The more we learn and teach others the more we can fight back against these neurological diseases! Thank you to all our many patients that participated in this event! You have forever changed these students for the better! Thank you to the students for their eagerness to learn, and thank you Robyn Redline (St. Francis Neuro Professor) for organizing this special day! ❤

There are several everyday items which can be used to combat Parkinson's. This move by PD Warrior is called the "scarf sn**ch" and is great for patient's with bradykinesia. These patient's experience a reduction in the speed and amplitude of their movements. The wide range of the arm swing and quickness of the grab are the most important aspects of this exercise.

We always aim to have a good time and promote laughter as well. Today a spouse joined in on the game and exercised a little stress release on her husband 😉

This so TRUE!! If you have a neurological issue and want to see changes in your function and delay the progression of the disease you MUST challenge your mind and body daily. We at the George Ferris Neuro-Hope Center will continue to challenge and push you even when you think you can't.... we will prove to you that YOU CAN!!

Today’s group fitness class was a little less vigorous than usual, but equally important. We worked on handwriting, hand strength, and hand coordination. Similar to our one-on-one treatments, patients were encouraged to THINK BIG.
LSVT BIG is a successful program for Parkinson’s patients in which movements are internally exaggerated by the patient in order to produce normal-sized movements on the outside. Such practice builds confidence and results in improved motor function.
