As Christmas Day draws to a close, you might feel a fresh sadness that another year is ending without your baby in your arms. Time moving forward can feel like betrayal, as if each month puts more distance between you and them.
From a grief perspective, though, love does not live on a calendar. The bond with your baby is carried in your nervous system, in your memories, in your body and your choices. It is not at the mercy of the date on your phone.
As you head into the night, you are allowed to:
• Whisper their name or shout it from the rooftops.
• Hold their memory close or tell the world of their existence.
You have survived a day you were dreading. That is not nothing. That is enormous.
Sending you so much love
