Dear Chiropractic Family,

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support during the difficult and untimely passing of Dr. Kevin Eichelberger. My family, staff and I are extremely grateful for your prayers, cards, letters and concern over the past five months. While it was never a consideration that we would need to close Wellness Chiropractic Center, we have been unable to keep it open in our current location.

I am pleased to announce that Dr. Aaron Martin and his associates at Iowa Chiropractic Clinic and Sports Injuries have agreed to service our current patients with quality chiropractic care. Past x-rays and patient files will also be securely stored by him. He has 2 offices, his primary location in Ankeny and a new location in Grimes. Until he is able to secure an Altoona location, he will look forward to meeting you and caring for you in Ankeny.

Dr. Aaron Martin has been in practice since 2002 and provides the same chiropractic and laser services as Dr. Eichelberger, with additional services for Spinal Decompression Therapy, Active Rehabilitation, Trigger Point Therapy and Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine. His associates, Dr. Vicki Tlach, Dr. Sean Delahunt and Dr. Nick Johnson are fully committed to caring for patients with the amazing benefits chiropractic has to offer.

To set up an appointment, please call Dr. Martin’s office below, letting them know you were a patient of Dr. Eichelberger’s.

Yours for wellness,
Christy Eichelberger,

A message from Christy

It is with a sad heart that I announce that Wellness Chiropractic Center is now closed. I have tried tirelessly to find a Doctor to continue the practice and unfortunately it is not meant to be after 4 months of searching and waiting. Today, I will be posting office furniture, equipment and supplies available for sale so I can leave our Suite by Labor Day. To our dear patients, I am in the process of working with a Doctor who is interested in servicing patients with the same loving care Dr. Eichelberger provided. I should be able to announce that soon! Know that this has been the most difficult process I have ever gone through and I want to thank you for your patience and loyalty through this process. You all meant so much to Kevin and I and we only want the best of health and wellness for each of you. Blessings to you all from your Wellness Team: Christy, Diane and Suzanne Christy Schrock Eichelberger

A Message from Christy Eichelberger: https://bit.ly/3ekvM7c

Some of you may or may not know, but Dr. Eichelberger was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia on April 5 and was immediately admitted to the oncology department at Methodist Hospital. After beginning chemo, Dr. Eichelberger began having a hard time breathing and doctors were left scratching their heads. Possibly pneumonia? Allergic reaction to the chemo? Meanwhile, he was rushed down to the Critical Care Unit to begin working to take the fluid off the lungs and get his breathing under control.

For the next week, he battled hard against the chemo fighting not just the cancer, but also against his lungs. On Saturday, April 17 in the presence of his wife Christy, daughter Katie and her boyfriend Kyle, and his two sons, Corey and Caleb, Dr. Eichelberger passed away.

The outcome of this was extremely unexpected. Dr. Eichelberger talked of riding bikes with his kids just last week and mentioned to many nurses that he had to fight, not only for his family, but for you, his patients. We know this might also be a shock to you as well and we know you probably have questions as to what happens now. You'll see the details that we have thus far outlined below. We hope that you can remember the care that Dr. Eichelberger provided and the family atmosphere he created. He LOVED being a chiropractor and most of all LOVED caring for all of you.

As for his practice and your care, you may have noticed if you called to schedule that we have a couple relief doctors in place right now to keep up with care. Please call the office with any questions you might have or to schedule an appointment to see Dr. Nikki Fitzgerald. Dr. Nikki will take great care of you. The current hours until June will be Tuesday from 1:00 - 5:30 PM, Wednesday from 7:00 AM - Noon, and Thursday 8:00 - 11:00 AM.

As for the practice as a whole, we are currently in the process of finding a long term replacement. It is crucial for us to find a Chiropractor that mimics the same values and level of care that Dr. Eichelberger has provided you over the past 14 years. If you have any questions or concerns at any level, please call the office at 515-957-9001. Diane and Suzanne would love to hear from you to just chat, talk future or to share memories of Dr. Eichelberger. Those memories are what we hold onto as we process and grieve the loss.

We apologize for the lack of communication and unexpected nature of this message. It all just happened so fast and we still are trying to process the loss of an amazing caregiver, husband, father, uncle and son.
