🎅🏻 Help us support Modoc County Office of Education's Holiday Stockings for Heroes drive! Each year, SEALS and MCOE preschool students put together these stockings for active duty troops who are deployed overseas as well as veterans at the Reno VA hospital.

🎉 We had a wonderful morning celebrating the completion of Mountain View Skilled Nursing Facility with our project partners! Our beloved Dr. Richert and Chief Nursing Officer, Ed Johnson, cut the ribbon to signify the completion of this momentous project.

Press Release: Modoc Medical Center Receives Interim Licensure for Hospital Addition

ALTURAS, Calif. — Modoc Medical Center (MMC) is pleased to announce that the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) has granted interim licensure for its new hospital addition, marking another major milestone in MMC’s ongoing commitment to expanding access to high-quality healthcare in the community.

The newly licensed addition includes two semi-private inpatient rooms, providing four additional hospital beds to serve patients locally and enhance inpatient capacity. These beds will also strengthen MMC’s ability to serve more patients through its federally approved Swing Bed Program, which provides skilled, transitional care for individuals recovering after hospitalization.

“Our expansion reflects our commitment to meeting the growing healthcare needs of our community,” said Kevin Kramer, Chief Executive Officer of Modoc Medical Center. “By adding new inpatient rooms and expanding our infusion and swing bed services, we’re ensuring that more patients can heal and recover close to home with the care and compassion they deserve.”

While the hospital's addition is now licensed and operational, MMC is still awaiting CDPH licensure for Mountain View Skilled Nursing Facility. A site inspection is scheduled for November 4, 2025, with a timeline for opening to be determined after that date. MMC will notify the public as soon as this timeline is established.
