Mixed animal practice Small animals, horses, and livestock compose the variety of patients seen at our veterinary practice.

Clinical services offered are examinations, vaccinations, health screens and in house laboratory testing as well as state-of-the-art radiograph technology. Routine surgical procedures as well as extensive dentistry and certain orthopedic repairs are performed Tuesday through Friday. We also offer special procedures such as artificial inseminations and ultrasound.

Heads up Modoc - we’re seeing an increased number of Parvo Virus infections recently. Puppies need to be vaccinated every 3-4 weeks starting as early as 6 weeks of age until they are over 16 weeks of age. Puppies are not well protected until they are fully vaccinated. We recommend avoiding travel, walking in areas frequented by other dogs, and dog parks until your puppy’s vaccines have all been completed.

Modoc Veterinary Center is now offering laparoscopic artificial insemintation (Lap AI) for sheep and goats! 🐐 🐑

Lap AI greatly increases chances of successful AI in sheep and goats and creates more opportunity for better genetics in a cost-effective way. After a synchronization protocol, the doe or ewe is sedated, tipped up in a specialized cradle, two incisions are made into the abdomen for a video scope and AI pipette, the uterine horn is identified and injected with fresh or frozen semen.

Employee Highlight!
If you haven’t seen this gal in person then you’ve probably talked to her on the phone. This is one of our fine receptionists, Abbey! Abbey started working with us in 2020. Abbey enjoys reading and growing flowers and has two little girls that keep her busy. Her favorite acitivity at the clinic involves working with all her colleagues.
She’s a real go getter! Say hey next time you’re in!

This weeks employee highlight is Kiana! Kiana has been working with us as a technician since 2021. Her favorite hobby is hiking with her dog Axel (handsome boy pictured below). Kiana’s favorite veterinary activities include anything involving abscesses and assisting with laceration repairs. She’s a superstar, feel free to say hi when you swing by!
