Altus Medical Group will be adjusting operating hours on 24 and 26 December 2025 in alignment with an Executive Order issuing closure of Federal Agencies on 24 and 26 December. The Medical Group will be closed on 24 and 25 December 2025 but will open from 0730-1200 on Friday, 26 December 2025, to accommodate access to essential primary care and ancillary services.

Please reference the following operating hours for our services on 26 December 2025.

For emergencies, please report to the nearest emergency department.

For urgent health needs, contact the MHS Nurse Advice Line by phone (800-874-2273) or online via chat.

Active Duty Service Members must contact the MHS Nurse Advice Line and obtain prior authorization before accessing care to an Urgent Care Center.

You may continue to send your Altus Medical Group Healthcare Team non urgent messages through the MHS GENESIS Patient Portal and we will respond at our earliest opportunity.

📣Altus Families - Virtual Pediatric Appointments are Availabile!

Altus Medical Group is excited to offer Virtual Pediatrics appointments for many common concerns, all from the comfort of your home.

✅Virtual visits may be used for:
- Medication refills (ADHD, anxiety/depression, allergies, asthma, and more)
- Rashes or acne (photos may be requested)
- ADHD or behavioral concerns (some cases may need follow-up in clinic)
- Cold or allergy symptoms (fever requires in-person visit)
- General questions or concerns
- Referral requests (may require face-to-face in some cases)
- Emergency Department or Urgent Care follow-ups

🚨Pediatric Care Update - Altus Medical Group🚨

From November 2025 through Summer of 2026, the Atlus MDG will not have an on-site pediatrician. But don't worry, enrolled pediatric patients still have multiple care options available depending on their needs:

- Acute or urgent needs: Families can seek care at local urgent care centers or nearby military treatment facilities.

- Routine or ongoing care: Alternative options will be available for non-urgent appointments.

✅Important: Altus MDG will continue to provide immunizations for children of all ages during this period.

Please be advised of a temporary adjustment to pediatric care services at Altus AFB due to the departure of one of our valued physicians. We understand the importance of consistent pediatric care and are working diligently to ensure your family continues to receive timely, high-quality care during this transition.

What This Means for Your Family:
Please continue to call our clinic first for your family's pediatric healthcare needs, just as you normally would. Please call the Pediatrics Clinic at 580-481-5235 or send a secure message via the MHS GENESIS Patient Portal.

• For some appointments/health care needs, we may need to temporarily refer your child to an approved TRICARE network partner (180-day referral with 6 visits authorized).
• Rest assured, we will carefully review your child’s individual needs and determine the best course of action for your family.
• If a referral is recommended, we will personally guide you through the entire referral process, making it as seamless as possible.
Additional Information:
• TRICARE Prime patients: You will not be disenrolled from the Altus AFB clinic, and no action is needed to keep your current enrollment.
• Active-duty family members: You will not incur any premiums or cost-shares with a referral.
• Retiree family members: Please be advised that you may have cost-shares for care received within the community.
• Considering other options? During Open Enrollment (Nov. 10 – Dec. 9, 2025), you can explore TRICARE Select, which allows you to choose an off-base pediatrician. Please note that TRICARE Select involves premiums and cost-shares. Learn more on the TRICARE website: https://tricare.mil/openseason.

Important Pharmacy Update – Altus AFB Pharmacy

Due to the current lapse in appropriations and resulting resource limitations, some routine prescriptions may temporarily be out of stock at the Altus AFB Clinic Pharmacy. If your medication is out of stock, you may choose to have your prescription filled at a local retail pharmacy or through the TRICARE Pharmacy Home Delivery. Please be assured that acute and urgent prescriptions will continue to be prioritized and filled as quickly as possible.

Here’s what you need to know:

• All NEW prescriptions will be dispensed for a 30 day-supply until further notice. Refills will remain unaffected.

• If your new prescription is affected, you will be notified by the Clinic Pharmacy located in the 97 MDG

• If your medication is unavailable at either pharmacy, you may transfer it to a local network pharmacy of your choice.
o To find a network pharmacy near you, visit:

o Contact the pharmacy of your choice and they will contact our pharmacy to complete the transfer

💉Flu Vaccine Update – Protect the Mission!💪

Team Altus,
Flu season is here, and our mission to defend against influenza is in full swing! The 97th Medical Group has made strong progress toward our goal of vaccinating all Active Duty members.

✅Current Status:
We are currently at 52.5% of our Active Duty personnel vaccinated! Thank you to everyone who has already rolled up their sleeves.

Once we reach 80% Active Duty compliance, we’ll begin offering the flu vaccine to dependents, retirees, and other eligible beneficiaries, so your efforts directly impact how soon we can expand access to our entire base community.

If you received your flu vaccine off-base (at a civilian pharmacy, TRICARE network provider, etc.), please provide documentation so we can update your medical record.
Your documentation must include:

• Your full name and DOD ID number or SSN (last four)
• The vaccine name/manufacturer (Fluariz, Fluzone, etc.)
• The date administered
• The provider or facility name

You can bring a copy of your record to the Immunizations Clinic or securely message us through MHS GENESIS Patient Portal to have it added in your file.
