Beyond Birth Midwifery We provide maternity care and well woman care to women that choose to take the lead in their care.

Individualized midwifery care for those who wish to take the lead in their care and have a natural birth with little to no interventions. Birth center and home birth allow for minimal interventions to increase the chance of having an unmedicated natural birth. Midwifery care is for anyone, even if you want to deliver in the hospital, with an epidural. Birth Haven birth center - 27 Medical Dr Suite B

Silvia Garbalena-Esparza, CNM, APRN RNC-NICC
Silvia is a certified nurse midwife with 30 years experience in the medical field. She is a veteran of the U.S Navy where she became a certified pharmacy tech. Started her nursing carrier in the NICU and then moved to L&D when she started midwifery school. Silvia has been serving the Panhandle for 10 years as a midwife. She believes our bodies were created to grow a baby, birth a baby and feed a baby. Her goal is to fully educate families so they can make the best decisions for their family and to prepare them for birth and motherhood.

When you don't mess with Mother Nature, it's not common to see the obstetrical emergencies that are seen at the hospital. Yes, things can happen during labor where mom or baby may need closer observation-- as a midwife it is my job to pick up on those signs to help families decide the safest place for birth.
