What a fun weekend at our Area 16 Special Olympics Texas Basketball Tournament! 🏀🎉 The turnout, energy, and community support made this tournament unforgettable.
A huge THANK YOU to Amarillo High, a proud Unified Champion Schools - Texas, for hosting us and opening your doors for this special event. We are so grateful for your facility and the amazing staff who supported us throughout the entire tournament, we couldn’t have done it without you!
A special thank you to Amarillo Police Department’s newest Chief, Chief Hover, and Sergeant Burr for joining us and helping carry the Flame of Hope alongside our athletes.
Shoutout to Lindsey Stiner News with NewsChannel 10 for serving as our incredible emcee and helping bring so much excitement and energy to the event!
A very special thank you to Ed Montana for the singing of our National Anthem. It was powerful and a perfect way to start off the tournament.
We are also so thankful for Atmos Energy for cooking lunch and taking care of our athletes, and Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages for donating Powerades to keep everyone hydrated all day long. Your generosity made a huge impact!
A special thank you to the River Road High School Cheerleaders for coming out and supporting our athletes, your energy and encouragement made the day even more exciting!
