Oceans Behavioral Hospital – Amarillo is proud to support Potter County’s Panhandle Regional Problem Solving Court (PRPSC), led by Judge Matt Hand.

This voluntary pre-trial diversion program brings together community partners to help participants unlearn past patterns, access support services, and build a stronger path forward. It’s a powerful example of how collaboration can create meaningful opportunities for healing and long-term success.

Meet Clifford McCormick‑Zenor, M.A., LPC - outpatient therapist at Oceans Behavioral Hospital - Amarillo who leads our adult group therapy with heart. He earned his B.A. in Psychology and M.A. in Counseling from West Texas A&M University and joined Oceans in 2024 after working as an individual counselor specializing in anxiety, depression, and mood disorders.

Clifford champions outpatient treatment as a flexible, essential option for many behavioral health needs, offering evidence‑based care that helps clients keep their home, work, and family routines. Known for his fantastic, caring approach and upbeat support, he’s passionate about helping people move forward on their mental health journeys.

Oceans Amarillo was proud to be the headline sponsor for the First Responder Crisis Conference in Clovis, New Mexico on February 25th-28th.

The conference brought together first responders including crisis-response teams, law enforcement, EMS, and community partners from New Mexico, Texas and across the U.S. and Canada to share best practices, training, and resources for responding to behavioral health crises among both the public and first responders themselves. It focuses on de-escalation, post-incident support, referral pathways, and building regional collaboration to improve outcomes.

Meet our Outpatient PRN Therapists!

PRN therapists are vital to Oceans Behavioral Hospital - Amarillo; they expand access to timely, specialized care, support continuity during high-demand periods, and bring community-rooted expertise that strengthens outcomes for youth and families. Meet two of the dedicated clinicians helping make that possible:

Jennifer Potter, LCSW - A champion for children, teens, and families, Jennifer has been instrumental in building local mental health programs including Amarillo’s first su***de postvention LOSS Team. She serves on multiple mental and public health boards, works full-time as a Special Education Counselor for Canyon ISD, and provides part-time therapy through Jack’s Place Youth Counseling Center and as an Adolescent Outpatient Therapist at Oceans Behavioral Hospital Amarillo. Her blend of clinical skill and community commitment helps ensure our youth get the support they need.

Azelin Roberts, LPC - Azelin brings deep experience in trauma recovery, domestic/sexual violence, human trafficking, addiction, crisis intervention, and severe mental health care. As Advocacy Clinical Coordinator for Family Support Services of Amarillo and Chair of the Freedom in the 806 Coalition Against Trafficking, she combines crisis response and advocacy counseling with evidence-based, client-centered care. Azelin creates safe, empowering spaces where clients feel seen, build resilience, and reclaim their lives.

We’re grateful for PRN clinicians like Jennifer and Azelin - their expertise, compassion, and community ties strengthen care across Amarillo.

For over 85 years, Cal Farley's Boys Ranch has been a beacon of hope for at-risk children ages 5-18, providing residential care and support services at no cost to families. Founded in 1939 by Cal Farley on the historic site of Old Tascosa, Boys Ranch has grown into one of the nation's largest privately funded child and family service organizations, serving thousands of young people from across the United States and beyond.

Meet the Inpatient Therapists at Oceans Behavioral Hospital Amarillo!

At Oceans Amarillo, we recognize the vital role that inpatient therapy plays in the treatment of mental health disorders. Inpatient therapy provides a safe and structured environment for individuals experiencing acute psychiatric challenges, allowing them to receive comprehensive care and support.

Our team of dedicated professionals is committed to facilitating healing and recovery through evidence-based practices and compassionate interventions.

Abril Zamora, LMSW, CHW

Abril is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) and a Certified Community Health Worker (CHW), with a rich background in social services since 2013. Her experience spans women’s health, behavioral health, and community-based services, where she has supported individuals and families facing complex transitions and mental health challenges. Currently working toward her Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) license under the supervision of Dr. Alyson Morgan, LCSW-S, Abril emphasizes collaboration, continual learning, and equipping patients with practical tools for healing and stability.

Melissa Carnero, LCSW

Melissa brings over seven years of experience as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker to our team. A proud graduate of West Texas A&M University, she holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Social Work. Her backgrounds in nonprofit organizations, community programs, and school social work have shaped her commitment to delivering high-quality care. Melissa is dedicated to serving her community with pride, ensuring that each individual's needs are met with compassion and professionalism.

Nicole Quintero, LMSW

As an Inpatient Therapist at Oceans, Nicole understands the challenges of navigating life's complexities. She is committed to offering quality mental health therapy through a collaborative and personalized approach. Supervised by Melissa Preece, LCCS-S, LCDC, SAP, Nicole is a proud graduate of Brescia University and licensed in Texas, Nicole specializes in anxiety disorders, relational trauma, and life transitions. She encourages everyone to take that first step towards peace and a better quality of life—because seeking support can be truly transformative!
