Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) is a serious condition where a blood clot forms in a deep vein—most often in the leg, but sometimes in the arm. ⚠️ It can become life-threatening if the clot travels to the lungs.

Common symptoms may include swelling, pain, warmth, or redness in an arm or leg.

"One thing we wish more people knew is that children like Jameson are not defined by their diagnosis. He is strong, fearless, and determined. While hemophilia is part of his life, it does not control who he is," says his mother, Stormy.

Two-year-old Jameson, also the nephew of our ED Director Alissa, lives with Severe Hemophilia A, a rare bleeding disorder that makes even minor injuries serious. What might be a small bruise for most can turn into internal bleeding for him as his blood does not clot properly. 🩸

This , Jameson's mom reminds us that while hemophilia often is an invisible condition, with proper care and support, those living with it can thrive. ❤️ Awareness leads to a better diagnosis, treatment, research, and hope.

Currently, Jameson receives an injection every 28 days to help replace his missing clotting factor. Despite his condition, Stormy reminds us that he is, “tough, resilient, and full of life.”
