Free memory screenings were offered today at Texas Tech Physicians in recognition of National Memory Screening Day. Early detection of mild cognitive impairment can help individuals explore treatments that may slow changes in memory and thinking skills or allow them to participate in clinical trials.

The event was hosted by Texas Tech Physicians Internal Medicine in partnership with the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center Garrison Institute on Aging. Adrienne Johnson, Ph.D., served as the guest speaker, discussing brain health and dementia prevention.

Special thanks to Amarillo Mayor Cole Stanley for issuing an official proclamation in recognition of National Memory Screening Day.
