Ombudsman Resource Information: A long-term care ombudsman helps residents and family members of a skilled nursing facility resolve complaints. Texans, we need your help in celebrating this World War II Veteran's 100th birthday!

The VLB's 100 for 100 program is an outreach effort coordinated by the VLB and the Texas General Land Office to garner support from communities for TSVH residents celebrating this incredible milestone.

VLB Chairwoman Dawn Buckingham, M.D., is encouraging Texans statewide to participate by sending a birthday card to WWII Army Veteran Charles Elliott, who will be turning 100 on March 4, 2026.

Mr. Elliott is currently a resident of the Ussery-Roan Texas State Veterans Home. Please address your cards to:

Texans, let's show some love to our Veterans this Valentine's Day! ❤️

Commissioner Buckingham is encouraging everyone to participate in the VLB's "Valentines for Vets" campaign.

Help us honor and show our appreciation to the brave men and women who served our country by mailing a Valentine's card to the Veterans who reside in any of the 10 Texas State Veterans Homes.

All cards should be postmarked by February 10th and include 'Valentines for Vets' in the mailing address.
