Turns out, he’s better at selling my books than me 🤣 AND he doesn’t find speech conventions overwhelming. ASHA was “a piece of cake” direct quote (meanwhile it takes me three days to recover afterwards lol ) We are getting ready for the TSHA convention in Ft. Worth Texas over here and my husband’s gonna be helping me at the booth again along with my Sierra!

Raise your hands in the comments if you are coming to the convention 👋🏼🙋🏻‍♀️

Snow Experiment! Make pretend snow in your next speech session! I do experiments like this at the end of the grading period as a reward while still working on goals! My experiments come with visual recipes, checklists, sequence activities, comprehension pages, describing pages, and a plethora of articulation and language worksheets. At the end of the session, you can put it in individual baggies for them to take home. I included a “contract” for them to sign (promising not to get it out until they get home) and a note for the parent to ask them about the activity! My kids LOVE these experiments and I know yours will too!

Comment “snow” for the link!

Groundhog Shadow Craft for speech therapy. My students absolutely love making the groundhog see its shadow. It never fails though, I have one student who catches on to what we are doing and colors black around him because they DO NOT want him to see a shadow 😂😂😂😂

Make sure you have black or dark brown construction paper and put those white crayons to work!

Product: Groundhog Shadow Craft for speech therapy (also on TPT).

This week it is all about penguins! This is such a fun theme. FREE to get Penguin Craft Template and all of the links to what used in this lesson (link below) . I used these items with all students (I serve an elementary school). The game is slightly overwhelming (I only get it out during this theme lol) but I also like using the bricks to build with or create arctic scenes (see photos of an example).

Book: I am a Penguin by Active Brains
Game: Save the Penguin Ice Breaker (like Don’t Break the Ice)
Crafts: Penguin Speech Gobblers by Panda Speech
Crafts: Easy construction paper penguin (free template by commenting “penguin”)
Toys: Mini Penguins Toys by Safari Limited.

Every New Year, my mom and I go on a hike through . It is such a great way to kick off the new year and celebrate her birthday.

I asked AI to summarize my year in a comedy roast (nice). If you post online, you can ask it to do the same for you (I also asked it to do a mean roast….. but dang LOL). I will share the nice roast below. Also enjoy some pictures from the 2nd largest canyon in the US (about 20 minutes from where I live)

2025 Roast (with love) 🔥🐼
2025 really said, “Amanda, let’s see what you’ve got.”
School-based SLP by day, children’s book author by night, small business owner somewhere in between… and somehow still answering DMs, packing orders, writing IEPs, presenting at conferences, and casually dropping new products like it’s no big deal.
If multitasking were an Olympic sport, Amanda Schaumburg would’ve taken gold… while narrating a story, targeting speech sounds, and reminding everyone that IEPs don’t have to be scary.
Panda Speech in 2025 = books flying off shelves, projects multiplying like gremlins, and Amanda insisting “this is my last idea for a while” (reader: it was not).
Burnout tried. She said ✨no✨ and published another book instead.

🤣

Grateful doesn’t even begin to cover it. For those of you who follow me for my books and publishing company, I am also a pediatric speech pathologist that also owns a small private practice that primarily contracts to schools. We specialize in helping school districts fill in gaps to ensure students get the services they need. We do regular therapy services, supervision, case management, evaluations, and coverage for maternity and medical leave. Two years ago, I expanded to offering occupational therapy, physical therapy, and school psychology services. I have an amazing team of professionals that work with me ❤️

Every year when I look at the stats, I am blown away at how far my little company truly reaches in my local community. I never really intended to expand this side of my business, but the need was there.

This year was full of growth, long days, problem-solving, SO many IEPs, and teamwork. To this incredible team, thank you for showing up for students and campuses week. Your flexibility, professionalism, and dedication are the reason this small business makes such a big impact. Because of you, hundreds of students were served, dozens of evaluations were completed, and schools across multiple campuses had the support they needed. What we do matters, and it works because of the people behind it.❤️
So proud of what we built together this year and even more excited for what’s ahead.

In case you didn’t hear, one of my newest board books (published February 2025) won a medal in the Moonbeam Children’s Book Awards.
About the book:
Your students will love lifting the flaps to see if Remi is at the zoo yet! This book targets theme vocabulary (community places), where questions, increasing utterances, yes/no questions, and more! It has two interactive elements to keep your student engaged (lift-able flaps and moveable pieces). Remi can’t wait to go to the zoo to see the new parrot exhibit! She keeps looking out her window to see if they are there yet!  The child will lift the flap on each page and see if they are at the zoo (while learning about places in the community along the way). There are built-in visuals for yes/no and a sentence strip at the bottom of the page for the student to put the matching community places picture in. The students will learn about each place as they go!

These books are unique because they also come with a whole book unit (printable worksheets, crafts, comprehension questions, and coloring pages) to go with them. For the next week, Remi’s Ride to the Zoo will be on sale to celebrate the award. www.shoppandaspeech.com
