Happy Friday the 13th Y’all.
Given the current state of the worldwide response to COVID-19, all efforts to slow infectivity are being encouraged. Therefore, I will be moving all sessions online starting Monday 3/16/2020. This is an effort to mitigate exposure for you and myself. I am not sick; this is a precautionary move to employ safety measures towards containment.
I realize this new format may be less comfortable than what we’re accustom to. However, I encourage you to continue your mental health routine during this time. Isolation, unscheduled time, worldwide frenzy, political fatigue, etc. can create instability and even the smallest irritations can be troubling.
I have created a HIPAA Compliant account for us to use. Please follow this link https://doxy.me/bekkilpc for our sessions on our regular schedule.
I can also use any of the following options that are not HIPAA compliant platforms: Facetime, Google Duo, or Facebook Video Chat. If none of those work for you, we can have a phone session. Please contact me if one of these is your preference.
We all need to exercise caution to reduce transmission in hopes that some short-term modifications can get us all back to normal as soon as possible. Let’s do our part to keep this within the capacity of our healthcare system. Sincerely, Bekki McQuay, LPC

It’s a scary place to be–emotionally distant from the one you love, regret from words you’ve said, and pain from what you’re feeling. Anger, frustration, and sadness surround you and you think to yourself how can we come back from this? Recovering from a bad fight has two sides to it. The fi...

I do not specialize in addiction and I know there are physical aspects that develop, but it is so true that Addiction is “ritualized compulsive comfort-seeking behavior". It can get better.

He says: Addiction shouldn’t be called “addiction”. It should be called “ritualized compulsive comfort-seeking”. He says: Ritualized compulsive comfort-seeking (what traditionalists call addiction)…
