Who we are
Neighbors Helping Neighbors is a HealthCare Advocacy Services with our primary goals:
1) Identifying individuals whose medical condition affects their daily activities.
2) Educate those individuals about waiver programs offered by the Office of Long-Term Living; Waiver Programs are free services that will assist with in-home daily activities.
3) Assisting individuals through the waiver enrollment process. State Waiver Services
There are a number of programs offered by the Office of Long-Term Living (The Department of Public Welfare and The Department of Aging) of Pennsylvania called “Waiver Programs” that will pay for services that will assist you or your loved ones with in-home daily activities. Whether due to aging, injury, illness or disability, knowing what types of services are needed, available and how to obtain them is not easy. The following is an example of the waivers:
1. Aging Waiver
The Aging Waiver provides long-term care services to qualified older Pennsylvanians (over age 60) living in their homes and communities.
2. Attendant Care / Act 150
Attendant care services for people under age 60 and information for mentally-alert Pennsylvanians with physical disabilities.
3. COMMCARE Waiver
Home and community-based program developed for individuals who experience a medically determinable diagnosis of traumatic brain injury.
4. Independence Waiver
The Independence Waiver provides services to persons with physical disabilities to allow them to live in the community and remain as independent as possible. You are not forgotten …. Did you know that there is an AIDS Waiver that provides home and community based services to eligible persons age 21 or older who have symptomatic HIV Disease or AIDS.
Who can receive Waiver Servicers
Waiver Services are available for anyone from the age of 18 years of age to over the age of 60 and on
We need your help! Do you know anyone who needs help with daily activities; bathing, dressing, meal preparation, light housekeeping, laundry, and shopping with errands services? To qualify for Free State Funded Waiver Service
1. Your medical condition must prevent daily activity
2. Your income must be $2,199. or less a month.
3. Home owner may have a lien put on home
