🩸✨ Breast milk is made from blood — not directly from what you eat.

Your body pulls from your bloodstream to create milk that’s perfectly designed for your baby. Most newborn gas is normal, and diet usually only matters if there’s a true protein allergy or intolerance.

Evidence matters. So does reassurance.

Be kind and loving to your mommy friends or family

You don’t ever forget how you were treated while pregnant❕

You remember who checked on you without being asked.
Who showed up.
Who made you feel safe, supported, and seen.

But you also remember who didn’t.
Who stayed silent.
Who judged your body, your choices, your boundaries.
Who made an already vulnerable time feel even heavier.

Pregnancy isn’t just physical… it’s emotional, mental, everything all at once.
And the way people treat you during that time? It sticks.

So be gentle with pregnant women.
Be kind.
Be supportive.
Check on them.

Because long after the baby is here…
she’ll remember how you made her feel.

There is a quiet strength in women that the world doesn’t always see. In this moment when chaos, interventions, insecurities, and fear can be commonplace, there is a sweet surrender.

This is active labor. Yes, active labor.
For her, it is not loud. Not chaotic. Not dramatic.
But deeply intentional… deeply surrendered.

For months, we prepared for this. She wanted to explore hypnobirthing and...
Breath by breath.
Fear by fear.
Letting go of what birth “should” look like…
and leaning into what her body already knows how to do.

This is what hypnobirthing can look like.
A mother going inward.
Trusting. Releasing. Riding each wave instead of fighting it.

My role here isn’t to lead but to remind.
To gently anchor her back to her breath, if she needs me
To lead her to the safety she built by trusting what she learned in our sessions while leaning on God, her husband, her body
to the strength that was always hers to begin with.

No rushing.
No pressure.
Just presence.

Birth doesn’t have to be loud to be powerful.
Sometimes it looks like stillness.
Closed eyes.
Soft breaths.
A woman doing the most primal, sacred work there is.

And it is an honor...every single time—
to be invited into this space.

It’s World Doula Week!!!

Because there’s a lot of confusion out there and mamas deserve to truly understand the kind of support available to them. 💛 I want to take a second and share what a Doula is and is not...

🤱 A doula IS
• Emotional support when you feel overwhelmed, unsure, or just need someone steady beside you
• Physical support through labor—positioning, comfort measures, breathing, movement and more to help laboring and birthing easier
• A guide to help you understand your options so you can make confident, informed decisions (hello B.R.A.I.N. 🧠✨)
• A calm, familiar presence in a space that can sometimes feel too clinical or fast-paced (talking lights, scents, music, and more with steady hands and a calm heart)
• Someone who sees YOU and not just your birth plan

I also personally weave in:
🌿 Childbirth education so you’re not walking into birth unsure or afraid
🌿 Breastfeeding support (this is actually where my journey began 🤍)
🌿 Postpartum care because support shouldn’t end once baby arrives
🌿 Real-life preparation—what labor actually looks like, what your body is doing, and how to work with it, not against it

đźš« A doula is NOT
• A replacement for your partner (I support *both* of you, even grandparents and gift dad books and we even have our own chats on how he can support you)
• A medical provider (I don’t perform clinical tasks or make medical decisions)
• Someone who speaks FOR you, but I will absolutely help you find your voice!!!!
• Only for “natural births”...I support ALL births: medicated, unmedicated, cesarean, vbac, home, hospital, and everything in between

💛 ❤️ 💙 And the part that I don’t take lightly…
I am invited into some of the most sacred, vulnerable, life-changing moments a family will ever experience.
That is never “just a job” to me.
It is an honor. Every...single...time.

đź’« **A little update for my mamas:**
I am now able to offer a code for you to accept HSA/FSA and other certain insurance reimbursement pathways, making support more accessible for families who need it. If you’ve been on the fence because of cost, let’s talk and see if your provider will reimburse you.

At the end of the day…
A doula is someone who walks with you through one of the most powerful transitions of your life and makes sure you never feel alone in it while feeling empowered, fearless, and safe.

If you’ve ever wondered what it would feel like to be supported, educated, and truly cared for in your birth journey… this is your sign.

Happy World Doula Week to all the incredible doulas holding space for families everywhere—and to the mamas who trust us with their stories. 🤍

There’s something sacred about a woman being held in birth.

This is what real labor support looks like.

Not fixing.
Not rushing.
Not taking over.
Not forcing.

Just… staying and being a calming force

Hand on her back.
Breathing with her.
Holding steady when it gets hard.
Encouraging when needed.

Because birth isn’t something a mama should “get through” alone…

It’s something she should be held through.

✨ **New addition to my doula kit!** ✨

I’m so excited to offer this Birth Pool as an option for my clients 🤍

Water is one of the most underrated labor tools out there.

Here’s why water support can be such a game-changer in labor:

💧 Natural pain relief – Warm water helps relax muscles, soften tension, and take pressure off the hips and pelvis
💧 Easier movement – Buoyancy lets you sway, squat, kneel, and change positions without fighting gravity
💧 Calmer nervous system – Being in water often lowers adrenaline and helps labor progress more smoothly
💧 Great for long or intense labors– Many parents find contractions more manageable and less exhausting in the tub

And a big myth I always want to bust 👇
🌿 You don’t have to plan a water birth to benefit from a birth tub.

You can:
• Use it at home while laboring, even if you plan to birth elsewhere
• Labor in water and get out to deliver
• And yes, some hospitals and birth centers allow you to bring your own birthing tub, depending on their policies

This tub is another way I get to support comfort, confidence, and choice in birth. This one is large enough for mama and partner or doula. I love having tools that meet families where they are — at home, in a hospital, or anywhere in between.

If you’re curious whether water support could be right for your labor, I’m always happy to talk it through 💬💙

The memories that are created and the bond that is formed when I assist a mother in whatever capacity she requires, is a role that makes me feel closest to God and one that I will never take for granted. I worked with Sarah John Photography for the first time. She was a backup doula and the family's birth photographer. I hope to work with her again.
