Maybe not a preferred way to make friends… through rehab for post-operative ACL and arthroscopic knee surgeries 🤣.

But these two have been rehabbing in parallel and bring a strong energy and camaraderie to their physical therapy sessions!

⭐️ New this week for them: Blood Flow Restriction Training (BFR).

BFR partially restricts blood flow to a targeted muscle group, uniquely stressing and fatiguing that muscle in order to stimulate muscle hypertrophy while still using a lower weight that is appropriate for whatever phase of rehab they are in. This can be especially helpful after knee surgeries. Bring on the straight leg raises, squats and step downs for those quads! 🦵🏻

We had ourselves a weekend in Duluth . Fun to represent Ames with .84 from Fitness Sports - Ames and , run coach with !

It was a tough one with a delayed race start and high humidity but we got it done 💪🏻. Congrats to all participants, especially our local ones!

This month we welcomed Dr. Molly Nichols to our physical therapy team! Molly danced at the University of Iowa, where she received her undergraduate degree. She then went to Creighton University for PT school. Outside of the clinic she enjoys running, golfing, traveling, relaxing outside, and spending time with her friends and family. She is looking forward to joining the Cyclones in Ireland in August!

We have a new personal trainer at United Movement, O’Rien Vance! 🏋️

O’Rien played football at Iowa State University, which helped him develop his passion for fitness and human movement. 🏈

He has experience as a cross fit coach and is a certified personal trainer. 💪🏻

In his free time he enjoys being outside and spending time with family and friends. 😎

We are thrilled to have him join our United Movement team of clinicians and trainers! 🙌🏻

Construction is under way! 🚧

Our front entrance to Ames Performance PT (off of Stange Rd ) is temporarily unavailable as we work on expanding our shared gym space at United Movement.

To keep things running smoothly and contain the remodeling process, please use the West side parking lot and entrance. Look for the Team Chiropractic sign on the west entry door.
