Amesbury + Rowley, MA + North Hampton, NH Adding the cardio and cycle only made it sweeter.
MotivateÂŽ was born out of a love for coming alongside people and helping them achieve their health and wellness goals. I found barre after son #3...and became stronger and more balanced than I had ever been in all my years in competitive sports. I fell in love and needed to share it with everyone willing to listen and partake. If you are looking for a true community of people who are kind, genuine, and like to work hard...MotivateÂŽ is it.

Who is Motivate.ÂŽ Training Studio For - Part One:
Motivate.ÂŽ Training Studio is for people who donât feel âreadyâ â but know they want to start.
1. The person who feels out of shape and doesnât know where to begin
They havenât exercised in years. Maybe decades.
They donât need intensity.
They need a starting point.
2. The person who feels intimidated by gyms
They donât want to walk into a room and feel behind, watched, or judged.
They want coaching.
They want patience.
They want to learn without pressure.
3. The person who is afraid of getting hurt
Theyâve had injuries. Or theyâre afraid of creating one.
They want to move safely.
They want to rebuild trust in their body.
4. The person who feels weak â and doesnât like that feeling
Simple things feel harder than they used to.
Carrying groceries. Getting up off the floor. Keeping up with life.
They want their strength back.
5. The person who has tried before and stopped
Not because they didnât care.
But because they didnât have the right support.
They donât need more motivation.
They need the right environment.
6. The person who worries theyâre âtoo oldâ or âtoo far goneâ
They wonder if itâs too late to change.
Itâs not.
Strength is one of the most adaptable systems in the human body â at any age.
7. The person whose body feels unfamiliar
After menopause.
After illness.
After years of putting themselves last.
They want to feel at home in their body again.
8. The person who wants to feel capable â not just compliant
They donât want to just follow along.
They want to understand. Improve. Progress.
They want confidence.
9. The person who needs encouragement, not intensity
They donât need to be pushed.
They need to be guided.
Progress comes from consistency, not punishment.
10. The person who is brave enough to start, even while feeling unsure
They donât feel confident yet.
But theyâre willing.
And thatâs enough.
The truth is: Motivate Training is not only for the already-strong.
Itâs for the becoming-strong.

At Motivate., we donât just see stronger bodies.â¨We see stronger lives.
Weâve watched clients:
⢠Carry their aging parents up stairs because they had the strength.â¨â˘ Sit through chemo treatments with grit they didnât know they had.â¨â˘ Set boundaries in relationships after finally trusting their own voice.â¨â˘ Leave jobs that drained them because they built confidence under a dumbbell.â¨â˘ Play on the floor with their grandkids and get back up without hesitation.â¨â˘ Hike mountains on retreat that once felt impossible.â¨â˘ Choose protein and sleep not out of restriction, but out of self-respect.â¨â˘ Walk into rooms differentlyâŚshoulders back, energy grounded, presence felt.
No one comes in saying,â¨âI want to get better at farmer carries.â
They come in because they want:â¨Energy.â¨Longevity.â¨Confidence.â¨Capability.â¨Courage.
And thatâs what happens.
You learn to finish the set when it burns.â¨You learn that discomfort isnât danger.â¨You learn that showing up tired still counts.â¨You learn that progress compounds.
Then one day you realizeâŚ
Youâre not just stronger in the studio.â¨Youâre steadier in conflict.â¨More patient in parenting.â¨More decisive in business.â¨More resilient when life punches first.
Thatâs the real win.
The studio is the lab.â¨Life is the test.
And when you train with intention,â¨you donât just build muscle ââ¨you build capacity.
Thatâs what this is about.đđť

Parent:
Hey⌠can I say something without it turning into a whole thing?
Child:
That depends. Is this about my Oreo addiction again?
Parent:
Maybe a little. But not just that. Iâve noticed youâve been pretty tired lately. And I know Iâve been on you about moving more, eating better⌠all that.
Child:
Yeah. You kind of have.
Parent:
The thing is⌠I havenât exactly been crushing it myself.
Child:
You mean like when you tell me to get off my phone and youâre scrolling?
Parent:
Yes. Exactly like that.
Child:
I notice, you know.
Parent:
I figured you did.
I guess itâs easier to tell you whatâs good for you than to always do it myself.
Child:
So why do you keep bringing it up?
Parent:
Because I care about you. I want you strong. Confident. Feeling good in your body.
But Iâm realizing I canât just talk about it. I should probably model it better.
Child:
So⌠are you saying we both need to work on it?
Parent:
Yeah. I think so. Not in a âweâre failingâ way. Just in a âwe can do better togetherâ way.
Child:
Like what?
Parent:
Maybe we both put our phones down after dinner.
Maybe we go for a walk a few nights a week.
Maybe we keep better snacks in the house â and I stop stress-eating chips in the pantry.
Child:
You do hide in the pantry.
Parent:
I know. Itâs not my proudest moment.
Child:
Okay⌠that feels different than you just telling me what to do.
Parent:
Good. Because I donât want to be the âdo as I say, not as I doâ parent.
I want us to build habits together.
Child:
What if we forget?
Parent:
Then we remind each other. Gently. No eye-rolling.
Deal?
Child:
Deal.
Parent:
Thanks for calling me out, by the way. I love you.
Child:
Thanks for actually listening. I love you too. And I want you here with me for a long time!đ§Ą

MotivateÂŽ Mission: MotivateÂŽ strives to inspire you to become stronger and healthier through thoughtful movement, nutrition and community in order to enhance the vibrancy and longevity of your life.
MotivateÂŽ was born out of a love of community and of coming alongside people to help them achieve their health and wellness goals. I found barre after son #3. I found it during a time of my life when I felt overwhelmed and depleted. It gave me some much-needed ME time. A byproduct was that in the process of taking a few classes a week, I became stronger and more balanced than I had ever been in all my years in competitive sports. I fell in love and needed to share it with everyone willing to listen and partake.
After teaching in Newburyport for about 8 years, I made the entrepreneurial leap to open my own studio. I found a dear spot in downtown Newburyport which made it even sweeter. The ability to take class and then walk a few paces to grab coffee or a fresh-pressed juice...or a glass of wine :-), created the sense of local community that I desired. It also as mimicked the feel of the studio where my love of barre began. It came full circle.
Adding the cardio and cycle...and most recently, nutrition coaching to the studio only made it sweeter, sweatier, and more well rounded. You can find everything here...strength and length as well as shred and sweat. And you get it all in a smaller instructor-client ratio to ensure sound form and personal attention. Our instructors are trained and certified in barre as it was originally intended: as a dynamic, full-body, joint-safe workout that strengthens and stretches all the major muscle groups in the body that originates in the Lotte Berk Method. MotivateÂŽ Barre is set to fun and upbeat music and combines ballet barre work, core conditioning, yoga, Pilates, and orthopedic exercises. The controlled movements are very focused, effective, and safe. (No coordination is necessary.) Proper alignment and form is the primary focus. Hands-on adjustments are built into class to take each client to their personal best. Incorporated into each session are active stretches to develop more toned, sculpted, lengthened, and supple muscles. The entire body and mind are constantly working throughout each session. Every position is cued to properly achieve and maintain core engagement. Through this process, your body, posture, and physical awareness will be transformed. No area of the body is left undiscovered in a barre class.
MotivateÂŽ is a true community player. We learn, serve and socialize together through MotivateÂŽ Book Groups, Serve and Socials. We currently serve at Our Neighborâs Table quarterly together. We are also a sponsor of the Newburyport Education Foundation. Barre Local and Serve Local.
If you are looking for a true community of people who are kind, genuine, and like to work hard...MotivateÂŽ is it.
