Meet Corissa Colon, LCSW, MSW💜

Corissa joined Multicultural Clinical Services in 2021 and has been a meaningful part of our team ever since.

With more than 25 years in the mental health field, Corissa works with teens and adults and is known for the way she creates authentic connections with the people she supports. She believes therapy should be a safe space where people can process life, make sense of what they’re feeling, and move toward change.

With a passion for supporting the neurodivergent community, specifically adults with ADHD, and a deep understanding of family systems, Corissa is a strong advocate for social justice. She embodies a clinical practice that is relational, compassionate, and vulnerable.

Corissa often reminds clients that caring for our mental health starts with the basics. Sleep, nutrition, and hydration matter more than we sometimes realize.

What stands out most about Corissa is the compassion she brings to this work. She shows up fully for her clients, walking alongside them through difficult moments and celebrating the progress they make along the way.

Outside of the therapy room, Corissa loves music and dancing.

We’re grateful for the care, heart, and energy she brings to the MCS community.

Today we honor the history, the lineage, the love of Blackness. We honor the innovators and the scientists. The homemakers and the organizers. The artists, the builders, the lovers. We honor the brilliance that has always existed, even when it was overlooked.

Black history is not separate from Black love. It is rooted in how we care for each other, how we create, how we protect, how we keep showing up. It lives in our families, our communities, our traditions, and in the way we continue to choose one another.

This month, and every month, we recognize the power in that.

🖤

Wholeness isn’t about fixing yourself. It’s about honoring all of who you are. Every part belongs. Take a pause today and check in: body, mind, heart, spirit. What needs care right now?

As I reflect on my journey, I've come to realize the immense love I have in my heart and the importance of acknowledging my own greatness. Explore this introspective piece! https://wix.to/0cMAzjR

I begin to reflect on how and when I got here. Yes, love was my conclusion. The feelings of peace, understanding, personal growth, and professional growth. I started to count the years, and I couldn’t believe how many years I have been trying. Then I realized how loved I am.I see it in her. I see ...

🌿✨ SOUL SESSION III: STILL I RISE — FINAL GATHERING ✨🌿 A healing space for the love of womanhood

Fifteen years ago, I began a journey I didn’t have the words for yet a journey of loss, love, unlearning, and reclaiming. Soul Session has been forming in my heart for a long time. It was born from the moments I lost myself, the moments I searched for love outside of me, and the moments I fought sometimes quietly, sometimes fiercely to return home to me.

These sessions were shaped by my own life lessons:
Life Lessons: the season I learned to rest, breathe, and hold gratitude as a compass.
What’s Love Got to Do With It? the season I learned to love me again, to tell myself the truth, and to face the tender and honest parts of my heart.
And now… Still I Rise the clarity of seeing myself fully, in all my chaos and my complication, and choosing to rise anyway.

Throughout this journey, I witnessed the extraordinary beauty of womanhood.
I saw softness and gentleness return as love maps were created to guide us home to ourselves.
I saw the boldness of women trusting themselves again trusting their power, their voice, and their truth.
It was breathtaking.
A natural mystic of beauty.

I am deeply honored to create this space for the love of womanhood a space where we reclaim the freedom to love ourselves without apology, without fear, and without hesitation.

Now, we enter our final series:

✨ STILL I RISE ✨
A celebration of our journey, our becoming, our strength, and our rising.
