A lash lift is a semi-permanent treatment that curls and lifts your natural lashes from the base, making them appear longer, fuller, and more defined. Lash tinting is also a semi-permanent treatment that dyes your natural eyelashes a custom color, such as black or brown.

Lash lifts and tints are indicated to last about 6-8 weeks, but can vary based on your own natural eyelash growth cycle.

What is cosmetic Sclerotherpy?

Sclerotherapy is a safe and well-established technique used to treat spider veins and reticular veins on the legs.

It involves injecting a medication called Asclera with a tiny needle into the vein. The medication causes the vein to break down and triggers a healing response which will cause the vein to disappear over time.

Final results are seen 8 weeks after treatment.

Compression stockings will need to be worn for a short period of time to optimize results.

Each treatment provides about a 70% improvement in appearance.

The number of treatments needed varies based on the amount of veins and the desired results.

Now offering two new Skinceuticals peels!

The Advanced Corrective Peel is a medically exclusive clinical treatment for comprehensive texture refinement and discoloration improvement. This customizable treatment is a concentrated blend of 10% phenylethyl resorcinol, 14% salicylic acid, and 14% lactic acid. For optimal results, it is recommended that the Advanced Corrective Peel Treatments be performed 4 weeks apart for a series of 4 peels.

The Smart TCA System is made up of a 15% trichloroacetic acid (TCA) and 3% glycolic acid peel, plus a post-peel Restorative Masque. Ideal for all skin types and most Fitzpatrick types, the Smart TCA System significantly improves the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, pore size, laxity, and hyperpigmentation. What's the difference between doing dermaplaning in the office or doing it at home? This is a question that comes up a lot for our aesthetician, Lauren.

Professional dermaplane blades are safer in many different ways. They are sterile, one-time use blades that come in individual sterile packs. The professional blades remove weeks' worth of dead skin cells and your vellus hairs, otherwise known as peach fuzz. This allows your skincare products to pe*****te deeper into the skin and travel into the layers of the skin that they're supposed to work in! This results in increased hydration, allowing your products to work more effectively.

Disposable store-bought facial razors, like the ones shown above, are not considered to be sterile. Reusing these blades can cause bacteria to spread to the skin. After each use, the bacteria is harbored on the blade, risking infection and breakouts. These blades also dull very quickly, which can result in tiny micro tears in the skin that damage the skin barrier and can cause inflammation and redness in the skin.

Just before Thanksgiving break, we sent our wonderful Medical Assistants, Sarah and Misty, out for a fun night on the town! Their mission was to connect with fellow local businesses and introduce them to Amherst Laser—while sharing coupons and a few special treats along the way.
