Katherine has a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education, is E-200RYT, 95RCYT, YACEP, Certified Trapeze Yoga Instructor, Certified Restorative Teen Yoga Instructor and is a Certified Children's Yoga Instructor. She has also been a Teacher Trainer for Kidding Around Yoga since 2017. In 2013 she decided to combine her two loves of teaching and yoga and started Let's Play & Namaste, yoga classes for children. This is a wonderful mix of yoga techniques through song, dance and play. Yoga for children is different than yoga for adults. To keep the children engaged yoga needs to be fun! We are able to keep the classes exciting while incorporating different yoga techniques such as breathing, meditation & poses in every class. The benefits of yoga for children are overwhelming. It boosts children's confidence while minimizing anxiety, stress and even depression, providing them with tools to manage everyday obstacles.

Left the house at 7am and arrived in Boston at 9:30. We were met at the entrance of Dana Farber by team of employees who helped to unload the jeep. It was bittersweet walking the same path I walked with my brother to his appointments and treatments. Riding the same elevator to the same (10th) floor etc. but it was so rewarding and a bit emotional meeting in a room to reunite with his care team. As much as it was hard for me it was even harder for my sister in law who did this walk with Dan more times than we can count. I was very grateful that her and I made the trip together♥️ Dan’s care team, lead doctor, social worker were so grateful and appreciative of the bags that we all put together as a community and donated. They wheeled a cart full (shown in pic below)to the infusion rooms right away to hand out.
Thank you everyone who helped to make this possible! All of your personalized notes that you wrote to recipients were hand written and placed in bags, honoring your stories and well wishes.

Bags are loaded! Off to Dana Farber early tomorrow morning to deliver all the amazing Chemo Care Bag! ❤️

Wow! Thank you to everyone who helped to make this happen! My heart is bursting. When I dreamed of doing this project I never imagined it would be this successful. We will be delivering 48 bags to Dana Farber in Boston. This was made possible by everyone who sponsored a bag, donated an item/s and volunteered to stuff the bags and hand write each card with a donors personalized note.

Each bag will bring a smile to someone’s face and encouragement to them along their journey.

We have set a date to fill the Chemo-Care Bags with a lot of amazing things! Bag Sponsors and those who donated were able to leave a personal message included with their bag for the recipient. We will be handwriting these messages of encouragement and well wishes in cards to make it even more personal.

Our Story

Katherine is a mother of 3 children and a wife of 22 years. She started practicing yoga 19 years ago when she was pregnant with her first child. Katherine has a background degree in elementary education, is a certified children's yoga instructor from Kidding Around Yoga and is RYT200, She attended Yoga Life Institute and is also a Teacher Trainer for Kidding Around Yoga. In 2013 she decided to combine her two loves of teaching and yoga and started Let's Play & Namaste, yoga classes for children. This is a wonderful mix of yoga techniques through song, dance and play.
