Outbreak over at Helen Henderson Care Centre - Effective immediately, Public Health has declared the Respiratory Unknown outbreak over at Helen Henderson Care Centre in Amherstview. As per the home’s protocols: visitations, outings and general visitors have resumed under the guidance of Public Health. Please remember to clean your hands before and after contact with a resident, as well as before entering the home and after exiting. If you are feeling unwell, please do not visit.

Outbreak Respiratory Unknown – Receptions One and Two in the long-term care home at Helen Henderson Care Centre are in an outbreak of respiratory unknown. Masks are required when entering the home and residents in these two areas are restricted to visitors who are Essential Caregivers. To decrease the potential of transmission throughout the home, please familiarize yourself with effective hand hygiene and proper donning and doffing procedures.
The home will continue to work closely with Public Health and the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care to minimize the outbreak. The home is following strict infection control protocols. Thank-you for your cooperation and understanding as we take every measure to protect your loved one. The well-being of the residents in our care, and our staff, is our top priority. If you are not feeling well, please do not visit our home. We will continue to update families via email about the outbreak. Please know that we have a comprehensive management plan that has been carefully and thoughtfully designed by experts.
