We recently hosted a Rural Trauma Team Development Course right here at Hood Memorial Hospital…held in our brand new community education classroom!

This important training brings healthcare teams together to strengthen the initial assessment, resuscitation and transfer of trauma patients in a streamlined, coordinated way.

Because when every second counts, teamwork makes all the difference. And thanks to members of the North Oaks Health System Trauma Team for joining us.

To meet the growing needs of our community and to continue offering convenient quality care, Amite Rural Health Clinic will be transitioning walk-in care to a separate location on Monday, March 30.

This change allows us to:
🔹Provide faster service for walk-in patients
🔹Improve access to primary care appointments
🔹Reduce wait times for scheduled visits

West Oak Family Clinic
903 W. Oak Street in Amite
🔹Monday-Friday, 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. 🔹Saturday, 8 - 11:30 a.m.

Amite Rural Health Clinic will have new hours — and appointments are required.
🔹Monday-Friday, 7 a.m. – 5 p.m

“Our goal is simple, to meet patients where they are and provide the care they need – when they need it,” shares Michael Whittington, CEO. “By opening earlier, staying later and serving patients on Saturdays, we’re removing barriers and making healthcare more convenient for busy families and working individuals – keeping our community healthier and better supported.”
