Amory Health Science and Sports Medicine students traveled to Hattiesburg this week to compete in the State HOSA Competition!

While there, students enjoyed attending a Southern Miss baseball game where they got to see Amory alumni, Braden Maranto. They also made a quick trip to the zoo, adding a little fun to the busy competition schedule.

Congratulations to Audrey Dozier for earning 1st place in Occupational Therapy! We are so proud of our students and how they represented Amory. It was a great trip!

What a FULL and FUN February in our Culinary Program! 👩‍🍳🍴

From front-of-house to hands-on culinary skills, our students have been busy building real-world experience and showing off their talents.

✨ Our wait staff did an outstanding job serving at our luncheons — practicing professionalism, communication, and hospitality skills.
🥐 Students learned the art of biscuit making in a special class with Jacob Dickens.
🏆 Huge congratulations to our SkillsUSA winners — we are so proud of your hard work and dedication!
🍦 We had so much fun making homemade ice cream with the 2nd grade Excel class — a sweet collaboration!
🍽️ Students also helped host the Rotary luncheon, gaining valuable catering and service experience.
🥥 Our macaroon making and charcuterie board class was a hit, showcasing both precision baking and creative presentation skills.

February was packed with learning, leadership, and lots of delicious creations. We are so proud of how our students continue to grow in skill and confidence every single month!

We’re going bananas in Health Science and Sports Medicine! 🍌

Students applied their understanding of anatomical terminology by carefully describing their banana using proper anatomical descriptors. After swapping papers, classmates used those descriptions to try and identify the correct banana. A fun, hands-on way to make learning stick!

Our Sports Medicine students had an incredible opportunity to visit Mississippi State University and tour the Athlete Engineering program along with several Athletic Training facilities on campus. 🏈💪
Students were able to see how science, technology, and athletics come together at the collegiate level, explore cutting-edge equipment, and learn about real-world career pathways in athletic training, sports performance, and engineering.
A huge thank you to Mississippi State University for welcoming us and giving our students a behind-the-scenes look at what the future of sports medicine can hold! ⭐
