A really difficult thing to do to a grieving person is to put any pressure on them. Please give them space and time for the hole in their heart to heal. Replying to messages and comments may be difficult. Making decisions might also be really difficult. It's hard to decide "what to have for lunch" when your world has shattered.

If you offer to be there for them, please follow through. It hurts for someone to say "Call me" and then the grieving person reaches out, and no answer, no reply, etc. It's neglectful. And it makes the grieving person feel even more alone.

Physical pain is common in this time. I forgot how much it can hurt. My heart aches and so does my stomach.
