You know, our time with the horses has had a lasting impact on me ( 🙋♀️) and they keep coming to mind as I navigate life on crutches.
A lesson imparted on me was that horses are often treated as tools and not as beings. How special it was to pause with the horses (and pony!!) and quietly ask them if we could enter their space, if we could touch them and be with them. It was strange how each horse had a clear answer, one I might have otherwise overlooked.
And now I recall this moment with the horses as I pause and listen to my body. How often I treat it like a tool to be mastered instead of an ally to partner with.
Where in my day-to-day am I using my body for short-term personal gain and where am I supporting it in its healing process?
This is Yoga off the mat and it’s the practice I have been given for the next few months. It’s my time to turn inward and truly listen to what my being is telling me.
This is the magic of the herd and exactly why we plan to host another Yoga & Horses workshop in the future, so everyone can experience their presence, hear their prompts, and find answers to their unknown questions.
Until then, I remain open.
