People ask me all the time what I do to stay energized and present through a full day of patients. The honest answer is that it starts before I ever walk through the clinic door. Meditation, journaling, morning light, yoga or a bike ride depending on the day, and then sauna, red light, and two minutes in the cold plunge before I get ready to see anyone. It sounds like a lot, but I built it slowly, one habit at a time. That's the only way any of it actually sticks.
You don't have to do it all, but building habits into your day that will actually move you closer to your wellness goals is one of my favorite things to work on with my patients.
