We know that there are a lot that will be attending the games in the next couple of days. Also, we'll be off for spring break next week and will return on the 25th. Here's a recap of the Parent Support Group that we're hosting.

Week One: Roots and Reflections.
We began our journey by exploring the impact of historical trauma on our roles as parents and adults. Our discussions centered on how past experiences from childhood through adulthood, shape parenting dynamics within our communities. We were honored to welcome Elder Donnie Tofpi, who provided vital literature and guidance on tracing our lineages. His session offered us the tools to build personal family trees, helping us better understand our individual origins.

Week Two: Healing and Moving Forward.
Our second session concluded our focus on historical trauma, specifically examining its effects on the body, mind, and spirit. Participants shared personal "gateways" and strategies to help our children thrive despite these challenges. We also previewed an important piece of parenting literature introduced by a participant, which will serve as our starting point for next week.

As we close this chapter on trauma, we prepare to enter Week Three with a renewed focus on the sacredness of our children.

KTPN was contacted and asked by Apache Public Schools to come and talk to the 6th & 9th grade class this morning. We talked about what Respect, Boundaries, & Humor, as friends & classmates, mean to them and then we offered our insight and discussed some scenarios to help aid on the topic. We truly appreciate the partnership and collaboration with our area schools and thank them for reaching out to the Prevention Network.
