Thanks for the inspiring message! Good luck at UCSD Pico!
Dear ETN Family,
I hope things are well! My name is Pico and I had the pleasure of working with Dr. Elizabeth and the ETN crew during the pandemic. Through this time, I learned so much about how demanding healthcare can be. Whether it be differences in medical literacy, cultural factors, or socioeconomic factors, balancing all of these can definitely be challenging.
What I will say, however, is that through all the hard work and stress, remember your reason why you started this track. The fulfillment of seeing a patient get healthier and happier is a high like no other. In healthcare, you get to learn so many new things about these people. You get reminded how diverse and unique every person is. And even through all that stress, all it takes is one smile to forget about all of it and remember your love for this field.
Overall, I want to encourage you all to keep chasing your dreams! No matter how challenging it may be, I want to let you know that you are capable. I once felt like I wasnβt smart enough to get into any medical school, but now I have the opportunity to attend UCSD! So please believe in yourselves and use your reasons to stay motivated. No matter how tired, stressed, or even hopeless you may feel, have some courage. No one can tell you where your ceiling is. So why not try and push it as high as you can?
Thank you again to Dr. Elizabeth and ETN for helping make all of this happen. I look forward to where this family will go and where each of yβall will go! π
