What a fantastic morning at our annual Turkey Trot 5K here at Walnut Village!

With 12 residents and several staff members joining in, it was the perfect way to get moving and burn off a few calories ahead of Thanksgiving. The energy was high, the weather was perfect, and the smiles were nonstop!

A special round of applause to the 3 residents who completed the full 5K — an incredible accomplishment and truly inspiring to us all. 👏🏽🏅

Already looking forward to next year’s trot! 🦃🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️✨

🏅 TEAM IRONMAN TRIATHLON WRAP-UP! 🏊‍♀️🚴‍♂️🏃‍♀️

Throughout October, residents teamed up to take on the ultimate endurance challenge — the Team Ironman Triathlon! Each group worked together to complete the full Ironman distances:
💧 2.4-mile swim/walk in the pool
🚲 112-mile bike ride (or NuStep!)
🚶‍♀️ 26.2-mile walk

This was all about teamwork, encouragement, and a healthy dose of friendly competition. 👏

A huge congratulations to everyone who participated and kept each other motivated all month long — your energy and team spirit were inspiring! 💪

🎃👻 We had a spooktacular Halloween at Walnut Village! The kids from Prince of Peace Lutheran School stopped by for a fun costume parade, bringing big smiles to everyone. 🎶🌸 A Heartfelt Thank You to the Reverie Youth Chinese Orchestra!

We were delighted to welcome the incredibly talented young musicians of the Reverie Youth Chinese Orchestra to Walnut Village for a wonderful performance. The group showcased traditional Chinese instruments, blending beautiful cultural pieces with familiar Western favorites — including a stunning rendition of Hotel California! 🎵✨

The performers, ranging from very young musicians to teens, impressed everyone with their skill and passion. Their families joined to cheer them on, and our residents absolutely loved every moment.

🍻🎉 Oktoberfest came to Walnut Village!

During Happy Hour, our community celebrated with ice-cold beer, warm soft pretzels with dip, and plenty of laughter. Residents joined in the fun with festive games — from guessing how many pretzels filled a giant container (one lucky resident nailed the exact number! 🥨👏), to ring toss with Guinness cans, and even a stein-holding contest that went an impressive 13 minutes before a champion was crowned! 💪🍺

To top it all off, some of our residents dressed in their finest lederhosen, bringing true Oktoberfest spirit to Walnut Village. 🌟

🌈✨ Walnut Village was full of color and good vibes during our Tie-Dye Day!

Staff came dressed in their brightest tie-dye, and a few residents joined in the fun too. Everyone had a blast voting for the most eye-catching outfit, and our very own Sandy took home the win! 🏆💜

To top it off, Sandy surprised us all by sharing that she actually attended Woodstock ‘99 — talk about authentic tie-dye spirit! 🎶🌼
