In celebration of International Women’s Day, we'd like to introduce everyone to Wanda! A remarkable resident from Topeka, Kansas, she shares a loving 51-year marriage with her husband Robert, a respected veteran, and is a proud mother of three children, with family at the heart of her life.

Wanda transformed her passion for sewing into a meaningful act of service, creating blankets, gowns, and soft flannel items for premature babies at St. Francis Hospital, offering comfort to families during delicate moments. Beyond sewing, she carefully handcrafts porcelain dolls, and enjoys sharing her artwork through painting.

Her life reflects compassion, creativity, and strong family bonds, including time with her granddaughter Jessie and her beloved rescue dog, Bubba, who brings her daily joy.

As we commemorate International Women's Day, we're delighted to spotlight Elaine. Born in Alabama, Elaine's life has been filled with a diverse array of experiences. Following the Second World War, she briefly attended Santa Ana College for a year and was actively involved in women's organizations. Her college years were marked by her membership in the Sigma Phi sorority at Los Angeles.

It was after college, at the age of eighteen, that she met and later married her husband. Throughout her life, she became a mother to two sons and has the joy of four grandchildren. Elaine cherished the freedom of travel, often heading out on road trips from California back to her roots in Alabama.

Choosing to be a homemaker, she dedicated herself to raising her children. She loves puzzles, word searches, the art of decorating, and her cherished stuffed animals. In her youth, she enjoyed the simple pleasures of roller skating and riding her bicycle, often making trips to the museum. It is truly a privilege to listen to Elaine's story, and her most important message to everyone is to create memories that can be shared and cherished with others as they get older, a practice she embodies fully! ✨

As part of our International Women's Day celebrations, we're recognizing Elizabeth, whose life reflects compassion, creativity, and service.

For 34 years she has lived a vegetarian lifestyle for spiritual and health reasons. She worked with the City of Pasadena’s senior community, supported outreach programs for the homeless in Skid Row and the Asian community in Chinatown, and volunteered decorating Rose Parade floats.

Elizabeth has lived a vibrant life where she's worked as a valet in Hollywood, and performed as a belly dancer for students and staff at Cypress College. Today we honor her kind spirit, dedication to helping others, and the beautiful impact she continues to make. 💜

Happy International Women’s Day! 🌸 Today we're celebrating, Betty, who at 101 years young is the definition of strength, resilience, and heart. 💜

After losing her husband, Betty embraced a new chapter here at the Meridian at Anaheim Hills, where she has now lived for 12 wonderful years. Here, she has built meaningful friendships, served on committees, helped lead the senior choir, and continues to be a vibrant voice in her community.

Her compassion extends far beyond her own neighborhood. As “Blinken the Clown,” Betty volunteered at Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital, bringing laughter, comfort, and joy to children when they needed it most.

Her story is a beautiful reminder that courage has no age, service has no limit, and it’s never too late to keep spreading light. She is resilient, compassionate, and endlessly inspiring. ✨

In celebration of International Women's Day, we'd like to introduce everyone to Sandy. Born in West Virginia, she's a mother of three and a proud grandmother to four grandsons. Sandy's life journey has been filled with diverse experiences. She initially embarked on a path of religious devotion, spending two years as a nun at Mount Saint Mary's, a convent Catholic school in Brentwood. Ultimately, she knew that this wasn't her destined path. She then met the love of her life, her husband of 53 years. Together, they built a family and were blessed with their children and grandchildren. 💕

From a very young age, around five years old, Sandy showed a keen interest in music, particularly the piano. Recognizing her potential, her parents nurtured her talent by arranging piano lessons. Sandy finds joy in giving back to her community. Every Sunday, she volunteers her time and shares her passion for music by playing the piano at the Grand Salon for everyone. Sandy is also passionate about crafting, art, and learning new skills! She has embraced diamond art and was excited to share her creation of two love birds. 🎶

To further celebrate her life's journey, Sandy wanted to share her cherished wedding photo of herself with her beloved husband, Tom. We are truly fortunate to have Sandy in our art classes, where she generously shares her creativity and inspires others! ✨

We enjoyed classic Shirley Temple floats while watching a collection of her most beloved performances. The room was filled with laughter, cherished memories, and heartfelt sing-alongs as everyone reminisced about seeing her on screen in their younger years.

It was a beautiful afternoon of nostalgia, connection, and celebrating a true legend whose light continues to shine across generations! ✨

This International Women’s Day, we're celebrating Angela! She's a woman whose journey spans countries, decades, and countless accomplishments. Born in the United Kingdom in 1947, her childhood was shaped by adventure when her family moved to Canada in the 1950s before eventually settling in the United States.

She built a successful career as a secretary and worked her way up to an administrative assistant through determination and hard work. In her younger years, she loved bowling and nurtured a passion for dance, taking several classes to refine her craft. Today, she enjoys exploring museums and getting lost in a good book. Angela’s story is one of resilience, growth, and lifelong curiosity which serves as a beautiful reminder that strength and passion can carry us anywhere. 💜
