B-U-S. If you can spell it, and can sign it, you can bet that you will be able to LEARN how to navigate the bus system and ride into your next adventure!

It's true. And we're here to help make that so!

Independence and access is everything and there is no feeling better when you can achieve BOTH things by being able to navigate your daily routine. However, if you're a person with disabilities or an older adult who cannot drive - it may be a bit overwhelming to try to understand how public transportation works.

Luckily DMC's Mobility Management Professionals Program (MMPP) is ACTIVELY taking referrals!

We have the MMPP Team focused on the goal of educating a total of 125 consumers through the fiscal year of 2026. Be one of the ones "in the know" and learn how to navigate the bus system and give yourself the educational training, access and independence today!

Learn more and share our MMPP flyers!

It's no secret that everyone gets older. This is a fact of life.

As an Independent Living Center for people with disabilities, older adults and Veterans, we see this fact of life every day in the work we do.

Our DMC Youth Connect gets to witness our youth participants in our youth transitions program age out of the program. It's both a victorious moment to see them gain confidence and skills to become independent to live the life they choose in adulthood, and a milestone in itself. Our youth also recognize what it means for a person to need support, gain it and give it in return on the other receiving end of our community.

DMC Youth Connect Youth Transition Services is actively looking for new referrals.

Open to OC residents with disabilities: Ages 14-24 can learn independent living skills to transition into adulthood.

* Socialize, gain knowledge and make friends.

* Learn and grow advocacy with others as you strengthen community ties

* Become active with your own peers.

* Expand your disability awareness with others.

* Share what inclusion means as you gain leadership abilities in independence.

Taking measures to gain accessibility which leads to independence in living the life you choose cannot be measured in just numbers because quality of life cannot be quantified in joy, confidence, safety, peace of mind, and life well-lived with equity in your home. If you're an older adult or a person with disabilities, nothing spells independence like being able to live the life you choose in the place you call home. If you recently experienced an accident or injury, it can be extremely overwhelming as a newer member joining our community unexpectedly, when you no longer can access your home the way you used to. No matter what your situation is, DMC Home Access is all about providing modifications to help individuals regain independence.
