Bayside Community Hospital Attains CIHQ Hospital Accreditation
ANAHUAC, Texas (January 12, 2026) – Bayside Community Hospital has officially earned Hospital Accreditation from the Center for Improvement in Healthcare Quality (CIHQ), a nationally recognized accrediting organization dedicated to advancing patient safety and quality care.
This achievement represents months of hospital-wide effort, with every department focused on a shared mission to strengthen infrastructure, reinforce standards of care, and deliver the highest quality care for patients and families across the community. In preparation for CIHQ accreditation, the hospital adopted a continuous, real-time readiness approach aligned with daily patient care practices. Teams conducted unannounced audits, real-time patient care reviews, and medical record evaluations, along with targeted education across departments and the District Board of Directors.
The hospital also formed a Community Advisory Committee to gather direct feedback on patient experience and community perception, ensuring care delivery reflects both national standards and community expectations.
“This accreditation reflects who we are and how we care for our community every single day,” said Ann Newton, CEO of Chambers Health. “Our team embraced this process not as a one-time event, but as an opportunity to strengthen our culture of safety, accountability, and excellence in real-time patient care. I am incredibly proud of our staff for their dedication and commitment to those we serve.”
CIHQ accreditation is the result of an unannounced onsite survey in which surveyors walked the hospital, observed care delivery, reviewed medical records, and spoke directly with staff. Accreditation confirms that Bayside Community Hospital meets CIHQ standards and the Conditions of Participation established by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
“CIHQ’s mission is to work with hospitals to improve care in our communities,” said Richard Curtis, CEO of CIHQ. “CIHQ is delighted to congratulate Bayside Community Hospital on their accreditation achievement.”
CIHQ accreditation further reinforces Bayside Community Hospital’s commitment to patient safety, quality outcomes, and dependable emergency care close to home.
