The Chambers Health Hospital has saved countless lives in over 70 years of operation in Anahuac Texas. We offer traditional hospital services such as emergency care, inpatient care, diagnostic imaging, and laboratory testing, but also Transitional Care, inpatient physical therapy, inpatient hospice care, and more. We recognize the importance of our hospital and emergency room in a rural community. In the case of serious injuries or illnesses, even short delays of driving for treatment could result in death or disability that could have otherwise been prevented by receiving stabilizing treatment at our board-certified emergency team in a hometown caring environment, 24 hours a day/7 days a week.

Seventeen years. One community. One focus: helping people live healthier lives.

This week, we’re highlighting Don Harper, FNP-C, who has been caring for patients at West Chambers for nearly two decades. With a background in biology, nursing, and advanced practice from UTMB, Don brings both research-minded thinking and real-world experience to every visit.

His philosophy is simple but powerful: health promotion matters.

That means looking beyond quick fixes and focusing on the habits that truly shape long-term health. If you ask him for one wellness tip, he won’t give you just one.

Sleep. Nutrition. Consistent exercise.
You can’t choose two. All three are equally important.

The best part of his job?
Helping people pursue their healthcare goals — and watching them achieve them.

Outside the clinic, Don enjoys woodworking, outdoor activities, and cheering on the Astros. (And yes, he has a twin brother — which might explain the strong work ethic.)

If you’ve ever walked away from an appointment feeling truly seen, heard, and cared for, there’s a good chance you’ve met Reagan Meuth, FNP-C.

Reagan serves patients at West Chambers with a philosophy that’s simple and deeply human: treat every patient like family. It’s an approach shaped by personal experience, guided by compassion, and carried out with intention every single day. Her patients aren’t just charts or checklists — they’re neighbors, parents, kids, and grandparents from the same community she calls home.

That commitment hasn’t gone unnoticed.
