When Crystal, a certified medical assistant, was diagnosed with breast cancer, she leaned on her sister, Carol, for support. Weeks later, they were stunned to learn Carol had received a breast cancer diagnosis of her own.

From their first appointment with their care coordinator, who helped them establish a roadmap, through chemo, radiation and surgery, the sisters felt surrounded by kindness during their shared journey.

Carol says, "The whole team becomes your family while you’re there." This comprehensive support — from the "amazing angels" on the chemo staff to their oncology social worker who helped with necessary paperwork — allowed them to focus on healing.

With their third sister, a two-decade survivor, providing crucial guidance, the three scheduled genetic testing, offering peace of mind to their own daughters.

The final word from the sisters? Don't wait. Schedule your annual mammogram. https://uph.link/mammograms

Our patient Betty recently shared her gratitude for the wonderful care she received during her stay at JRMC. One of those caring faces was Anna, a Doctor of Physical Therapy student from the College of Saint Mary, who's completing her final clinical rotation at JRMC before graduating in December.

“During my time here, I’ve gained valuable experience working with patients recovering from illness or surgery,” Anna shared. “It has been a rewarding experience, and I look forward to using the skills I’ve learned here throughout my future career.”

Betty’s appreciation and Anna’s dedication capture the heart of what we do, providing exceptional care today while helping shape the healthcare professionals of tomorrow.

Jane said every nurse, tech, and therapist went above and beyond, offering not just medical care, but hope and encouragement for brighter days ahead.

We’re honored to care for patients like Rayferd and wish him continued strength on his recovery journey.
