Congratulations! Thank you for your service to our community!

Welcome to another 'First Responder Friday!' Today we're honoring Jason and Jerimiah Snow, who were nominated by Jennifer Snow! The entry reads:

"This father/son duo has been serving the Anamosa community for a combined 30 years! Jason is a 24-year member of the department, and Jerimiah has been on for 6 years. Jerimiah is also a Critical Care Paramedic on the Anamosa Area Ambulance Service and Regional Medical Center in Manchester. They never hesitate to jump in and help anyone in need!"

Jones County nonprofits awarded over $109,000

The Jones County Community Foundation recently celebrated 17 local nonprofits and charitable organizations, awarding them $109,636.50 from its annual grant cycle during an event at Citizens State Bank Youth Development Center in Monticello.

The annual event celebrated donors, fundholders and partners whose support has helped ignite generosity across the community. The grants awarded will help tackle critical issues, including youth needs, technology upgrades and emergency response.

β€œWe are always excited to award grants in support of Jones County nonprofits,” says Sheila Tjaden. β€œThese organizations make our communities great places to live.” Tjaden is the Director of Affiliate Foundations for the Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque, which hosts the Jones County Community Foundation.

This year’s grant recipients and the projects they received funding for are:
