Flu season is right around the corner! The CDC recommends that anyone 6 months of age and older get vaccinated, particularly people who are at a high risk for flu complications. This includes people 65 years and older, young children and people with chronic conditions such as asthma or heart disease. Get your vaccine at your local hospital or pharmacy today.

This month the University of Alaska Fairbanks hosted the 14th Alaska Interior Medical Education Summit (AIMES), which featured demonstrations, panel discussions and hands-on activities for high school and college students interested in the medical field. A great opportunity encouraging young people to explore the many roles available to them in the healthcare industry!

Alaska’s healthcare sector is expected to grow by over 10% by 2032, according to the Alaska Dept. of Labor and Workforce Development. Recognizing the need for more healthcare providers in the state, the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF) has been working to recruit new students into the field.
