Yesterday, our team had two cats brought to us who, sadly, had already passed away. One was a solid grey colored, middle aged, intact male, and the other was a middle aged, intact male, orange tabby.

Neither had a microchip, and we were unable to identify their owners. Weโ€™re sharing this in hopes that someone may be looking for them and can find closure.

Our hearts go out to anyone missing a beloved pet. If you believe one of these cats may be yours, please contact Anchorage Animal Care and Control.

๐Ÿ‘ป๐ŸŽƒโ˜ ๏ธ Trick or treat, smell my feet, give me something good to eat (but, don't give your pets Halloween candy)!

While it may be the scariest time of year, it doesn't have to be for your pets. Here are 7 tips to help prevent any scary situations. You can find more information at avma.org/Halloween.

Ever wonder what a Vet Tech's job description really looks like? It's basically a grocery list of superpowers:

Zoologist Extraordinaire: One minute they're wrestling a feisty feline, the next they're cooing at a chihuahua, and then somehow explaining animal behavior. They speak fluent animal (all dialects!).

X-Ray Vision (and Operation): "Just hold still, Fluffy! Almost got that perfect shot of your swallowed sock." They're part photographer, part radiation safety expert, and all patience.

Anesthesia Whisperer: Keeping a sleepy patient stable during surgery? That's our tech, monitoring vitals like a hawk, adjusting meds with precision, and probably humming a soothing tune.

Blood Draw Ninja: They can find a vein on a wiggling puppy in dim light, usually while simultaneously fending off an overly enthusiastic owner's questions. It's an art form!

Dental Diva: Scaling and polishing teeth, identifying gum disease, and making sure those pearly whites are sparkling. It's not glamorous, but someone's gotta do it!

Therapist (for pets AND people): Calming anxious pets, comforting worried owners, and occasionally offering a shoulder to cry on. Because emotions are a huge part of vet med!

Master of Disguise: They can turn a towel into a calming wrap, a leash into a temporary muzzle, and their own scrubs into a temporary tissue.

So, to every Vet Tech out there who wears a dozen hats (and probably has animal hair on all of them), we salute you! You are the backbone, the brain, and the boundless energy of veterinary medicine. Thank you for everything you do!
